Description I was inspired by the event that happened some days ago. Its a very strong theme for an artist so this is my try. Operation Neptune's Spear in Pakistan town Abbottabad. In that moment OBL is still sleeping probably...
Also this operation is a great opportunity for me to visualize the secret stealth Blackhawk helicopter. The machine is based on all the info I can find on internet but still the real thing can be different. The house and location is also based on real place, which was a bit pain to do it.
I hope its not too dark, I was tweaking the night picture that its not totally dark, its ok on my monitor at least.

It is marvelous, fantastic and beautiful!

The background, the foreground, and the Black Hawks....absolutely beautiful! The texture, excellent!

Not to mention this painting shows a defining moment in U.S. history when the most dangerous terrorist in the world was taken down by U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six. And the after shock that followed, as many Americans celebrated as finally, after ten years of hunting OBL, retribution was finally delivered!

I truly love this piece and I hope to see more of your future projects soon!

You did well my friend! I hope to see more of your work.

Sincerely, Patriot-112.

Great art for an important moment of history.
Your design of the Black Hawk X is really good.
I love the details inside the hello with crew and SF soldier (task force 373 maybe?)
Did you used reference for Abotabad.
The city is nicely done, enough light to be visible, without it being too alive so that we understand that it is night.
And a gain great job on the shy and the mountains.

Brillant art.

I hop to see more military art from you because your art on this subject are always amazing.

I've request it for appearing in my group.

The night air remains still and silent; a vast contrast from the heavy firefighting and explosion of war that scarred the air of the day. Many await their enemies to make a false move or some kind of mistake that could give away their presence to the opposing forces. As you and your soldiers wait, a powerful tenseness covers you and your team. After the bloody events that came to pass from this day, you silently wonder whether or not help is going to come to you. Whether or not you would all simply remained stationed in this hostile locale without a single connection to the outside world until every one of your units are picked off one by one in the night. Family that awaits you back home...you think if you would ever see any of them again. As you look about your squad, you can see in some of their eyes that the same thought is slowly flowing through their minds, as if a reservoir of dark thoughts and inner fears begin to flow about you all like a cold, unforgiving river. Just as you all begin to surrender any chance of backup or assistance from your superiors, you hear a familiar sound cutting through the thick, silenced air. The sounds of helicopter propellers; the sound of assistance. Flying above your heads are prototype Blackhawk helicopters making passes throughout the area for any signs of your squadron. They soar through the sky like large birds of prey seeking out any and all hostiles that wish to challenge their statuesque forms in combat. At last your assistance has come to your aid and now you and your squad continue to wait; as the battle here has only just begun. Blackhawk on the Hunt, created by *Radojavor, presents us with a classic example of a modern machine preparing to enter the battlefield, ready to make its enemies pay for the crimes they have committed.

The use of detailing does a great job of exemplifying the dark setting that is depicted here. The tense atmosphere of war really brings out quite a bit of personality in this piece and grasps the attention of the viewer as they are bathed within the piece's immersive action. Detailing also on display in this piece as well. The Blackhawks look great in this piece with the distant light of them moon reflecting off the fuselages of the heavy metal machines. The twilight haze that covers the town really looks good, especially with the moonlight in the distance being reflected and passed through it, giving the city a more mysterious feel to it that ads to the tense atmosphere excellently. It really gives off an impression of daunting figures moving through the night and displays the potential power of the Blackhawks as they move through the night. I also have to give this artist credit for his use of dynamics in the setting. The motion blurring effect on the helicopter propellers really ads that much need feeling of dynamic movement within the piece. As one looks into this drawing, they could almost imagine watching the Blackhawks flying in from the distance over the city as the prepare for their attack against their enemies. The sounds of the propellers slicing through the air as they make their way forward. It all comes together quite nicely and shows off a great scene with all of the compositional elements bringing forth a nice balance of dynamic action with a tense atmosphere over the image.

However, while I do enjoy much of the atmosphere displayed, there are just a few things that the artist could do to take this up a notch in the quality department. I feel that the piece could do with a nice depth-of-field effect on the foreground elements. The front-most buildings could use a bit of sharpening and some of the buildings around them in the background should be blurred just a bit as to increase the focus on the Blackhawks in the air. Another small thing that could be done is to increase the detailing on the fuselages of the Blackhawk helicopters. Try and put in a few small paint scratches or even gentle mist flowing off of the wheels as they cut through the air of their destination. Doing this would really increase the overall feeling of immersion within this piece and create an even more powerful drawing effect to the viewers of the piece. All in all, I would suggest that while the piece looks great, your next step would be to refine your craft, like a warrior who hones his blade to its sharpest edge so that it will be sure to take on any challenge presented to it without even the slightest challenge brought forth.

There are quite a few piece on this website that depict military machines in action or even battles featuring their capabilities. However, in the case of Blackhawk on the Hunt, this manages to create a strange emanating force about it that ads a form of mechanical grace to the design, make it seem less like military hardware and more like a metallic bird of prey soaring through the air over their designated hunting grounds. While there could be a few things done to enhance its appearance, that still barely affects the overall and inner beauty of the depiction for what it is. Excellent work, *Radojavor! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/cā€¦ " width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>

Thank you for this very complex impression. Im afraid I not very good at writing so this will be much shorter It for me real pleasure to read it and I think you are right. I even done and posted here a version with blurred background but later replaced it this one. So maybe Ill do some update again. Regarding the detail of the chopper. this one is stealth version almost prototype so I cant put any rust or dirt on it. Even the surface is smooth to lower the radar reflections so dont know how to do it more attractive.

Outstanding work!

Only the minigun on the right Blackhawk seems too shiny and i think there is too much light (even for a full moon night) but still... impressive work!

2 things crossed my mind:
1) if the Blackhawk X is some kind of advanced prototipe/secret heli, is it realistic that they are using two different configuration?
because the right one has three "spikes" on the top and one on the tail, but the other one has only one on the top (two on the tail?) and two lines written under the rear rotor, the other only one.

2) are you sure about the green light? i've always thought that night lights are red...

Hahaha, I thought only Americans believe the fascist US propaganda.

It's pitiful how easily people are manipulated and brainwashed.
You really think Bin Laden was still alive at this point?
It's not like all those videos released by the CIA have not been proven 100% fake...
And just to make sure the so called SEAL team doesn't sing about that day, they blew up one of their helicopters shortly after as a warning. They won't dare open their mouth.
And LMAO "dumped into the sea"

You children are cute, it's just sad you support a fascist military empire.

Apart from all that, it's fantastic artwork.
The lights sources are very well done and it gives the piece a great perspective of debth.

The only problem with what you says, is that there is no proof, so we can't believe you completely. But USA are NOT fascist, and the best proof is the fact that you're still alive. If they really where fascist, you would be already dead. Think about it...

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

viridarium-x In reply to Alpha568 [2011-10-06 21:53:13 +0000 UTC]

Firstly, it is the truth.
There are various reliable sources claiming his death, most of which date it at 2001. The videos released past that time were analyzed by independent swizz scientists who used state of the art voice recognition technology. In fact it was a different person in each video.

Secondly, the US are indeed a fascist state.
You're given the illusion of choice, while you're being brainwashed into radical nationalists who worship the military like a godlike entity, as it replaced the welfare system for the most part. The installation of military bases around the planet and the dealing with cartels, installing and backing dictators is an old sceme of the USA.

Thirdly, apart from all that, Bin Laden was merely a scapegoat and had little to do with 9/11. The hijackers were not Afghan, they were Saudis who were backed by the CIA who covered their tracks and made it all happen. One of them was arrested before as he was taking flight lessons in the US. The CIA intervened and freed him, and further surpressed any investigation and info flow on the matter, so the plan could be carried out. On September 12th, 2001, Rice, Cheney, Bush and their Saudi counterpart ambassador Bandar bin Sultan were sitting together, celebrating their success. It's more than obvious Cheney was the main faction in this and had advanced knowledge, as he profited the most of the wars as chairman of Haliburton.

Everything I just stated is fact and you are free to investigate and convince yourself. There is plenty of official documents, interviews and pictures confirming everything.

Lastly, it wouldn't affect me because I don't live in the US.
But just so you know, there have been authors who have indeed been censored and their publications halted and altered by the authorities with the verdict of "jeopardizing national security".

I gave you the truth, but you will never accept it because it stands against what you WANT to believe. That's okay. Just be aware that by closing your eyes, the blood of the poor and helpless is on your hands too.

Peace

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Alpha568 In reply to viridarium-x [2011-10-07 07:41:56 +0000 UTC]

Okay. I see.

But haven't you ask the question that what you say is also what YOU, you WANT to believe.

I've already seen some of your proofs and author, like "loose change". I was nearly convinced until I discover that ALL the movie was a big lie (for example, one of their proofs was the fact that security measures were back to normal after an exercice). And the author whose i read the books have never integorrated the witnesses of the 09/11 attacks. And can you tell me where can i find the info on Bush, Cheney, and Bandar bi Sultan; or with the CIA freeing one of the terrorrist.

And I don't live either in the USA. But tell that they're fascit is exaggerated. Of course there are radicals parts, like the neo-cons (bush) who wants to get all the power they can have, but you have seen the people getting out to tell "Bush, Get Out". Yes Mankind can be manipulated, fooled, and blinded, but in the end, it will make the right choice.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

viridarium-x In reply to Alpha568 [2011-10-08 22:56:10 +0000 UTC]

In the end, it will make the most profitable choice.
Humans are opportunists. That's why the US came in the position they were for decades, but now that their empire will inevitably fall, the world is cutting their ties with America and the power shift to the East has begun. Who knows what will happen next. I'm guessing the US will not go down in silence. They'll drag everyone down with them.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Alpha568 In reply to viridarium-x [2011-10-09 13:00:23 +0000 UTC]

It's not a fall. It's a rebalancing. USA have profited of the weakness of Russia and the leak of coordination of EU to impose themsevle to the world. But as you know, Russia and EU, China and, to a lesser extent, Brezil and India are asserting themselves and counterbancing the power of the USA. They will have to go along with it, but unless there is a major disater (nuclear attack,...), saying that USA are faling is just playing dream-merchant.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

viridarium-x In reply to Alpha568 [2011-10-09 18:36:35 +0000 UTC]

Depends on how you interpret "fall".

Let's reconsider.
Military spending exceeds that of the 16 largest militaries in the world COMBINED. 40% of US spendings are borrowed. 20% of Americans live in poverty (tendency rising). Highest incarceration rate in the world. Hyper ghettos in which part of the population receives education on a 3rd world country level. Privatized prison society and surpression of citizen as well as human rights. Over 17 trillion debt. Countless imperialist wars that drain the nation endlessly. And so on and so on...

The reason why the US was in the place it inhabited in the first place was mainly due to foreign investors and loaners. US treasury bonds were considered the non-plus-ultra for decades. Now that the FED in their debt driven megalomania have hyper inflated the dollar (and continue to do so) the financial crisis is swapping over to those who profited from it. Mainly Western countries, especially Europe. Thus the entirety of the Western world is on a downwards spiral which can't be stopped, only dampened, as seen with the ridiculous bail-out attempts of Greece, which are only a drop of water in a wild fire.

Meanwhile, the East is pretty much untouched by this, especially Russia which has come out of the crisis stronger than it was before. Needless to say China owns a huge portion of US debt and continues to skyrocket in economic growth, simply because NOBODY can match their labour prices. (which is due to major human rights violations, but that is not the point here). Already Germany (EU's most potent economical power, and probably the size-related most important economy in the world as of now) has cut its ties with the US in many ways, and for the last decade has interchanged China as their #1 trade partner (tendency increasing).

I could go on forever, but meh...
Fact is: The US have plastered the planet with military bases and have massacred MILLIONS in their endevours to empire building. That is over now. They will either close them down, and live within their means. OR... they will continue their aggression wars and drain the last drops of blood from the Western world, continuing to scare off any potential partners. It might even end in a WW3, as the predecessor signs are very alike. History repeats itself in many ways. Human greed overshadows their capability to learn.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Alpha568 In reply to viridarium-x [2011-10-10 02:13:02 +0000 UTC]

A WW3 is very unlikely. And the chinese skyrocket in economic growth can ends in only two ways: It slows down (back to normal), or it collapses (economic crisis). And I'm sure you know know what happens if, like you say, the downward spiral of the Western countries can't be stopped : a new woldwide economic crisis, worse thant the one in 2008. That's means that soon or late, everyone will do his part to stop this spiral. Because the consequence would be far worse if they let it go.

Of course the Werstern Countries would have to rethink their politics, and especially the USA, but your two ending scenarios are good for when it was Geores W. Bush who was the POTUS.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

viridarium-x In reply to Alpha568 [2011-10-10 04:45:44 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I'm aware of the consequences.
And yes, as of now, the collapse of the Western world is pretty much inevitable in the sense that the current status quo CAN'T be maintained. This is due to a very simple reason and that is that the concept of capitalism has failed. (and no, I'm not a communist) The "suck-dry" capitalism imposed by the West has profited from cheap labour and debt. Two factors that came to be a ticking time bomb, whose detonation can only be postponed now, but not stopped. I live in the West too and I will get to feel the consequences in my lifetime, but to tell you the truth I welcome it. It's about time we give up our current decadent living standards and I can only hope it will be in favour of those we exploited for so long. I believe in human equality, not superiority of a certain political form.

Simple example:
The most sold drink is coffee. People want quality coffee for reasonable prices. The ones who produce the coffee work under horrible conditions. If WE ALL would have paid only a few cents more for a pack of coffee, these people could have had a human worthy life. But that's the ugly face of capitalism we never get to see. It's my wish that this will change and I'm ready to pay the price. Also a weakened USA will contribute to a more peaceful world. Enough poor and helpless have died. Vietnam, Africa, Middle East, it's a wonder to me how Nazi Germany was stopped, yet nobody stopps the US.

Alpha568 In reply to viridarium-x [2011-10-10 17:45:21 +0000 UTC]

I agree With you, but I think that a progressive evolution is more profitable for everyone than a sudden change of system after a crysis. If you have to use a system completely different, what will be the bases of this system? And what if doesn't work? Will we take again a year, two years, ten years to create a system that will finaly work? And during this time, how many people will lost everything?

If we start from our capitalist system, and if we make it evolve in the right direction, then we will have a lesser unfair world. Of course, it's risky, but lesser than suddenly change our actual economic system from today to tomorrow.
