Halloween is near, so here is a seasonal picture. I love this season so cant resist to pain another pic. It was a rather quick work, about a 15 hours or so. Hope you like it.Done s always photoshop +wacom.

I'm a fan of your work, but this one is my favorite. Β You have a great gift for creating mood and tone, and you use light so effectively.
The scene here is hauntingly dreary. Β I can feel the seasonal crisp chill (there's smoke from every chimney) and the gusting wind as it swirls the maple leaves. Β The last rays of sunlight are like outstretched fingers, as the day lingers a moment longer before succumbing to night. Β Even the trees seem to cling to what remains of their leaves. Β The tall, narrow buildings crowd in and lean forward, like menacing, reedy old men. Β The grinning jack-o-lanterns are sharing a joke, but they're turned away from the town and watching the graveyard. There's something dreadful in the offing.
There's a welcoming glow from the open door, but I imagine that the occupants will soon bolt that door, draw the curtain, and pull their chairs closer to the hearth. Β They'll build the fire higher than usual, and spend the evening bumpering one another with cider, content to let the night pass by outside unattended.
But those trick-or-treaters in the center. Β There's just something sinister about them, something disturbing when I look closely at them. Β It's like the feeling I get looking at photos that Victorian-era people made of deceased family members.

ooh I always love your Halloween pics! I tell everyone that I can't wait for your next Halloween painting and I'm NEVER disappointed! I love this so much. I like how the graveyard seems to be edging into the city, but it also reminds me of my own Halloween decor, with a false graveyard out front. Very spooky and amazing as always!

I simply love this painting. It just captures the warm cosiness and the slightly eeriness of Halloween. The color scheme is wonderful. It's gives so much life to the painting. I also love that it looks like it could've been done on a canvas. There's so much detail in there but not too much so my imagination sort of gets sparked. It totally transports me to this lovely looking village you've created!

I have been using your painting on my work computer as wallpaper for years. Actual years. Sometimes I switch it out but I always end up back with this picture. I thought after all this time I should tell you how much happiness it has given me. I know it sounds weird but when I am bored at work I kinda fall into it. I often wonder about the various stories that have taken place here and still are. I love the colors and the gentleness of the leaves. The starkness of the headstones and the way the light falls. Your quick work 6 years ago has given me quite a bit of thought and because of this pic I look forward to your yearly Halloween paintings.
