contest thing, CD cover designdidn't win shit
and must say, the first prized was just a black box, with no title or anything...goddamn architects killing joy of everything...
seriously tho, just saying, this contest was made to 'promote young creative artists that havent been discovered yet'
but all they are promoting is a black box
people here make fun about slovenia for being a small country, but a friend of mine s running an art gallery in Ljubljana, my cousin is attended academy there and I've seen their art...they are brilliant compared to us. we are like cavemen compared to them, and they're such small country that's mostly mocked for it's size.. and yes we may have several good artists that made it, got successful but they made it outside the country
For fuck's sake, one illustrator of ours works for the Wizards of the Coast, and he's still just an art professor here..

Zao mi je sto nije bilo nista od cover arta. Bas sam zamisljao prolaziti pokraj Dallasa ili Croatie i vidjeti te tvoje covere.
Babun (tj.mandril) izgleda odlicno, ovako dobar rad s tvoje strane vec dulje nisam vidio. Sto se tice njih, odjebi. Po tvojim opisima te crne kutije mislim
i da nista bolje nisu ni zasluzili. Slovenija pak nije Odinom dana zemlja vec isto ex-Yu pripizdina i banana republika kao i ostalih 7..odn. 6 jer Kosovo nema smisla
postojati; ionako je nista vise nego li baza za 5600 US vojnika, polurazruΕ‘eni gradovi kao "target practice" nad Srbima i kao tranzitno mjesto za dilanje droge,
transakcije laznog novca, prostituciju etc.
Da ne idem u nedogled, ono sto ti mislis misli i 90% populacije rodjene unutar 1991-95 razdoblja: ICI VAN. Ja sam pak odustao od studija u Austriji jer im je smjestaj prokleto skup i sto ce mi matura iz njemackog kad ga mogu ucit i pricat doma i van redno, cak i za taj faks u Becu ili Wiener Neustadtu. Ja pak sad pucam na razmjene u Svedsku i to ce zahtjevati skupljanje sto vise bodova za Erasmus program. Ekonomski kao i ostali u Ri ionako suradjuju sa Svedskom tako da imam sanse. Vjerojatno medjunarodno poslovanje, ekoloska/IT ekonomija itd. Sto bi dao da tamo zivim otisao bi skandinavsku povijest studirati iz ovih stopa 
Na kraju eto puno srece s Australijom, no cisto sumnjam hoce li biti ista kruha od toga. A nisam nista vise sumnjicav oko mog izbora. Overalt er dritt

Don't think it's just a problem of Croatia though...I see plenty of bullshit here too and sure you'd think that Italy would be above that art-wise >_>

Not to mention that here there's the problem of young illustrators being straight out abused and/or hired to work for peanuts with the excuse that "you're so young, what were you expecting"...excuuuse me, I had no idea that you need to be 45 to receive some basic respect, I'll know better next time

last year we had to go to an exhibition of best croatian artists...there were 2 rooms filled with like 200 years of DECENT art like this [link] [link] but they we're just like the 'intro' to the good part, and we were all excited for the second part wich was 2 or 3 rooms full of that naiva crap
one HUGE one, like 1,50x1 meter painting of drunk peasants sleeping in the barn with one's buttcrack showing...srsly I cried a little
