Ivana and Galen told her everything during the next two days. About Earth of their time, the war where humanity was almost eliminated, Ivana's battlefield experiences, Galen's previous marriage and smuggling operations during and after the way, Ivana's work as a mercenary and how the two met when she hunted him to fulfill a contract, and how the war restarted just before the accident. They told her how Owen was actually a refugee they tried to rescue then adopted when they arrived in this reality. About meeting Etyssa in the temporal distortion and how that same distortion affected their daughter. Then to prove it all they showed her the shuttle in the hidden hangar. They flew to the Pacific base then the crash site where parts of the Logan's Pride could still be seen because they couldn't salvage those parts due to extensive damage.

The entire experience was both frightening and fascinating for her. Then they flew into space, and for the first time Denise found herself believing everything they told her. She was the first person of her world to fly in orbit over Mars, to see the spot of Jupiter up close, to fly through the rings of Saturn, to see the asteroid belt at the edge of the solar system, then return home all within thirty-six hours. Just as she kept Max's secret from society, so too would she keep their secret. No. She would do more. The couple wanted to protect this Earth in ways they couldn't their own. To avoid the future of their universe in this one, and those golden statues on her mantle at home seemed insignificant. She would aid them in any way she could.
