No, but find a picture of cute a kitten here on deviantart, scroll through the comments and count the ones that use the word 'adorable'
(And then for comparison you could find a landscape photo and see many 'adorable'-comments you'd find there )

It's just a development of language, words get attached to certain meanings which may not be the original meaning.
Like in Iceland we have the word 'Ñgætur' which in the Icelandic Sagas meant 'excellent' but today merely means 'all right.'
