Description Coming to a location near you as  Fraking spreads.  We get all upset (and rightly so) about wars, death, greed, and hate, but a bigger problem lies under our feet.  As potable water keeps disappearing think of all the things mentioned, they will quadruple.  If choices are not made soon, our legacy is our own death.

These boots are NOT made for walking. And yes, Nestle is capitalism coming back to the US. Maybe at some point some people will wake up, though I seriously doubt so..

From time to time people wake up, but they forget quickly.  However the time is coming where no one will be able to "forget" because it will be too late.  I am expecting the takeover of government  (by proxy) by the Koch brothers...they own most of it already.  They pretty much own the right wing here.  They have jumped the borders and are heavily invested in the Canadian insanity with the tar sands.  Maybe the dirtiest stuff on the planet.  Western Canada if it were in the U.S. would be declared a superfund (extreme pollution) site today, the Canadians it seems are powerless to end this.  The politicians (in power) there are bought and paid for as well.
If you don't know who these guys are, do some reading, they are threatening the whole planet.  That's not bullshit.  The fact are the facts, it's all there in black and white but it seems no one is interested unless it affects them personally.  Soon it will, and it has.  The article in Rolling Stone magazine buts everything together, everyone should be scared.  Unfortunately people will still vote for the far right even knowing it will cost them.  As someone on the right once told me, any environmental problems that are a byproduct will easily be taken care of with new technology.  I guess his business degree has supplied him with a deep understanding ecology and biology.  I just shake my head.

I don't know the US government as anything else than completely PWNED by Boeing, LM, TI and the like, so I'm not sure t can get much worse even from a Koch brothers takeover. Yes, the tar sands, our own domestic pride (shared with the UK) Shell is pretty active there as well, but so far that fact seems to have entirely escaped local media attention, possibly thanks to a never-ending litany of complaints about their activities in Nigeria. Smokescreen politics? Nigerian protesters paid by Shell itself in order to focus the attention away from other sensitive stuff? I wouldn't even be surprised if it turned out to be true. We also don't want any of that toxic shale stuff going on over here, but please don't hesitate to send us your shale gas and oil at a good price in case you have a surplus!

The Kochs are worse than Boeing and the like.  They are one of the largest investors in that disgusting tar sands mess in Canada.  They have worked a deal with my State to tax any personal electricity generation from solar energy.  They worked to remove the federal tax credit for alternate energy, and won.  They are working State by State to get rid of those pesky environmental regulations.  They especially hate all alternative energy.  Their goal is to remove all environmental protections.  They've tried to bribe universities with million(s) dollar donations IF they could hire their own economics professors.  They only believe in supply side economics---for a really good reason.  They even are buying local school boards--why I don't know.  Did I mention they have had more oil spills and are responsible for more ecological damage than anyone else in this country outside of coal mining in the last twenty years.  Hardly any of the gas and oil production stays here, it's nearly ALL sold overseas.  We buy ours from overseas.  That fact kills me when these same people talk about "energy independence."

Well, a possible silver lining on this dark cloud could be the fact that school boards PWNED by the Kochs are no longer available for the Intelligent Design crew. After all the Kochs are Catholics and the Vatican supports evolution. Closely related: in my opinion American Evangelists are the most dangerous clan on this planet, FAR more dangerous than IS or any amount of organized crime from the past or present combined. The killings of gays in Uganda are their direct responsibility, and Uganda is only considered a test bed for them. Not to mention the idea that nuking Iran out of existence will usher in the Second Coming of the Sweet Lord Jesus Christ. It seems impossible that human beings are even capable of believing such crap, but "with God nothing is impossible", apparently. And they're just too close for comfort to the biggest nuclear arsenal on the planet..

"Cruel world," nah it only responds to what we do....but it always has the last laugh, and it's on us.  Hey people of our age were born with a slap on the butt, I guess that was just getting us ready for what was to come in our lives.
