Yeah, but I totally understand how home life stuff can affect comics work. Been through that more times than I would care to mention.

Great looking page! It sometimes amazes me that you do all your darks by hand when you know an inker is going to go over them anyway. I think I remember reading a comment of yours from way back when telling someone you hated the look of those little x's everywhere that many pencilers use. Am I correct?
I think it's probably because shading it the way you do makes the page look more like a standalone work of art instead of a blueprint for something else. You can have something you can hang on a wall and be proud of it from the very beginning.

Yup. I totally said that. When pencilers go all out on a page i.e. fully rendering the page with shadows and such, the end result is a LOT nicer to look at than just open line work and inking indicators. That's why you shouldn't do that when showing pages to an editor. It just looks unfinished. I learned that the hard way.
When working in an industry where you're only as good as your last work, it's best...as a penciler, to fully render your pages. Now, I will only do inker indicators when I KNOW I won't be showing that page to potential employers and I want to move the drawing process along faster.
Also, you probably won't be able to see a page with x's on them. Collectors want fully rendered work, too!
