Oaidae, the Whimsical. One of the eight Winged Guardians of Zoincailla. This Conclainian has lived in the skies of the planet Nygoria for over 10,000 years.
Oaidae is associated with the sky, the weather, and the uncontrollable, unpredictable nature of the world. Despite his advanced age, Oaidae retains the generally playful and carefree disposition of his species. Combined with the incredible power and immortality of a Guardian, this has led Oaidae to become a rather audacious and mischievous being. Though generally benign, he sees himself as being more or less “above” the rest of his kind, and often treats the planet Nygoria as a sort of plaything. He does whatever he wants and has few reservations about using his powers for frivilous purposes, such as playing pranks on mortals or altering the landscape to his liking. Many Conclainians worship him as a deity, and Oaidae enjoys every minute of it - he’s even known to seek out and attend feasts that are being held in his honor. To him, his role as a Guardian is like playing a game. Still, when it comes down to it he genuinely does care for his planet and its people, and is willing to defend it with everything he has.
Oaidae’s fickle and playful nature are reflected in his powers, which primarily manifest as “control over the weather.” The entire concept of “the sky” is Oaidae’s to command, meaning his abilities are versatile, powerful, and far-reachiong. He can freely create, manipulate, and weaponize any meteorological effect, including sunlight, wind, rain, hail, lightning, and more. Notably, since these powers are magical in nature they actually work anywhere that Oaidae goes - even deep underground or in the vacuum of space.
Even though he’s a powerful demigod, Oaidae’s brain is still that of a Conclainian - as such, despite being sentient and capable of understanding speech, he is not able to form his thoughts into coherent sentences. To work around this, he has developed a unique form of communication using his magic; Oaidae can telepathically project his thoughts and feelings directly to other people. Instead of words, he uses images, sensations, and raw emotions to speak to others.
The crown that sits upon Oaidae’s head is known as Vaurmel. Normally, an entanma can only manifest magic within a limited radius around themselves, known as their personal “dominion.” However, Vaurmel allows Oaidae to increase his dominion to any size he wishes, effectively giving him an infinite range of influence. He can easily cast magic on targets thousands and thousands of miles away, as long he knows that target’s location. He uses the power of Vaurmel to communicate with allies over great distances, and to smite enemies long before they can even begin to approach him.
