Description Trying to get a bit of my muse back...been working on this on and off between commissions, and got completely wrapped up in it tonight while trying to work on someone's image.

Maybe pixels haven't had enough of a presence in my artistic life. I feel they're something I can work with, most of the time, without getting frustrated, annoyed, or dissuaded by. Most other artwork is a struggle with me anymore. Do I still enjoy it? Most of the time. Is it something I actively seek to do? Not much anymore. Pixel work seems to help me escape that little loop that I seem to get caught in every now and again. It's relaxing. A good escape from everything else. A good escape from life for a couple of hours. Something really, really needed lately that I wasn't able to grasp my fingers around until now. I want art of all kinds to be fun again -- no more dreading working on a project. No more hatred of my work. That's probably why I haven't done as much this past year or two -- my art hasn't been connecting with me the way it used to. It kills me. Art used to be my life, my essence, what I lived to do. But this past year it's felt more of a burden -- I feel that I have seen very little improvement, though I may be sketching my sorry ass off whenever I can coax myself into doing so. Pixel art is somewhat the opposite -- I can feel and see myself improving in each piece I do and that's a feeling I haven't felt in a very, veryΒ long time.

Do not use. My use only.

I must say, I can see improvement with your pixels, but they're always so high quality.
Massively inspiring as well

Aw thank you ;__; I love doing pixels but with me, there's a specific mood needed for them and unfortunately that's not something easily called upon.

Pixels are a lot easier, since I don't have to use my tablet. And because I can have more control over the lines and stuff. Don't really have the option to use a stabilizer on photoshop XP

Oh yeah, definitely. MSPaint is how I started art digitally and I'll be damned if I just toss it aside, hah.

I never used MSPaint XP

Is it difficult to use?

Ohhh hardly! I prefer it for pixels. There aren't any layers or anything though, so that's a major downfall to some people, but eh -- I work around that haha.

Oh, I see. I've seen a few people around dA who likes using Paint. I don't have it, so I just use photoshop for everything XP

Damn mac and its incompatibility ><

Mac actually has a program very similar to MSPaint! Paintbrush, I believe it's called!

I'll go check it out! I hate when softwares are pc-only, since wine sucks and parallels makes my laptop heat up so quickly its not even funny ;-;

Oh yeah, I feel your pain, hah. Back when I used a laptop for everything I couldn't run half the things I 'needed'.

Right? pixels are so much less frustrating in my opinion
and I don't get so easily discouraged while working on it as I would with
a SAI drawing or something lol

this style and size is super cute, do you think you'll ever be doing commissions for
something similar?

Yeah man, going back to basics with Paint really helps me to relax sometimes. Not really sure why -- maybe because there isn't as much fancy stuff as there is in Sai or Photoshop to distract me? I'unno.

Ahh thank you though! I'm still toying around with my style and it's somewhat hard for me to redo some styles, but I will definitely be attempting more of these and may open them in the future. I'd just feel bad opening them after only doing a couple and then them not turn out the same way!

yeah ;-; sai/photoshop takes a lot more effort to make it look right

and alright c: maybe by then I'll have enough points to buy one uvu haha

Alrighty! I've no idea what they'd be priced, since they do take me a good chunk of time, but hopefully some friends will be able to help me out there! I'll post a commission slot whenever they're open. <:
