"Come on Akiharu, it's just down here!" Firefly panted turning a sharp corner 'round the ammunition shed. After a good distance from the men they were beginning to loose ground which wasnt good. At the sound of barking dogs, Akiharu jumped a little almost about to stop, firefly nudged her on knowing her reaction would be to stop dead, whenever the dogs come out, it means the horses are in trouble and they must stand dead still until told otherwise. Firefly huffed, him losing his breath, he noticed the fence, the last fence they had to jump. He frowned harshly and pounded his feet harder racing past Akiharu, she ran as fast as she could but struggled to keep up. Firefly stopped a perfect distance away from the fence and arced over the relatively big fence, Akiharu followed close behind. About 80 metres from the fence Firefly started to slow down but, could no longer hear Akiharu's feet pounding beside him, he could no longer feel her warm breath against his sides. Suddenly his thoughts stopped as an agonised squeal echoed from behind. He dug his feet into the soil that was hidden underneith a blanket of grass and ferns. He turned his head instantly and stopped, stood frozen. "A-Akiharu!" He called rearing and charging towards his mate, she had a harness attached to her, around her neck and on her face. She was being dragged back to the Base.
"Firefly!" She continually called tears streaming down her face.
"I'm coming Akiharu, hold on!" Firefly whinnied back, he went to ram the men but a line of men all lined up behind Akiharu holding guns up read to fire if Firefly came any closer. He stopped, knowing that he would just end up risking both their lives...and he didn't want Akiharu to get hurt. Firefly felt tears fill up his eyes and one trickle down his face. A bitter wind nipped at the two horses. It carried their light manes and tails across their bodies. They both stood looking at each other. Just standing eyes connected. For this would be the last time he would see her beautiful eyes, the last time he'd see her soft curvy face, the last time he'd ever have to say goodbye. After 3 minutes, firefly slowly closed his eyes, telling Akiharu goodbye, He wanted to speak but, how could he? How could he think of any words to say at a moment like this. Tears trickled down his face and sat on the tip of his chin and cheek. Akiharu cried silently, every now and again taking a sharp breath in making a little squeak in doing so. The ropes tightened around her neck, they had had their moment of goodbyes, now the men were anxious to get her back. They tugged on her a few times.
"come one..." One said walking past and patting her neck then continued walking back to base, Akiharu slowly turned, and went to take a step. Somehow through her eyes, it was as if she wasnt angry at him, yet happy that he would be living a free life, and that they'd meet again someday. When she was fully turned around she didnt look back, too hard to. Firefly stood, the wind curling round his fetlocks and ears. Storm clouds were approaching, he felt a smal cold tap on his nose, and another and another. And a light shower of rain began to fall, no matter how badly he wanted to believe that they'd meet again, he knew in his heart, that that goodbye, was the last delicate notes of their symphony.

I have been working on this on and off for the past 3 weeks XD and Im finally done
Sad story, I finally finished this picture I have been working on for weeks CX Its of the ending scene of Firefly and Akiharu's relationship.
I was inspired by the song "It Ends Tonight" by All American Rejects, such a great song. This is my favourite couple ever, and It's sad they had to be apart I love them both dearly, I feel like firefly is a apart of me now, after writing that part of his story, I feel like I can show my emotions through him...

ANYWAY back to the picture, I used about 50 layers in all 10 of them were on the sky >w< I used a reff for the sky (found somewhere on google) but I didnt trace it, I suck ass at skies so yeah
I am really pleased with how this turned out, especially the background and the shading, I ish so proud CX Please comment and fav
