Fluttershy was born in Cloudsdale, and had a very uneventful childhood. She had friends, bullies, family, and her little brother Zephyr. Cloudsdale isn't her favourite place, and while she's not scared of flying, she prefers to be on the ground. Hooves firmly planted in the dirt. Ahh the dirt. Fluttershy found her special talent on vacation once, when she got lost in the woods surrounding the sweet little cabin her parents had rented in the mountains. She realized, after being lost in the dark for so long, that the animals spoke and she could understand. It was thanks to them, and the nature in general, that she got home. That's why, as soon as she could, she moved away to a little cabin on the edge of the Everfree forest. Even though she trusts the forest and creatures within, her fears still play on her homes location. Her constant nightmares are how she met Luna, actually. And with the Empress' help, her nightmares slowly turned to dreams, and then dates. Thunder Frost is her assitant in her sanctuary.

Andromeda, or Luna the Queen of the Night, is Equestria's dream walker. She stays up all hours of the night, wandering through dreams and leading astray ponies back on the right track. Her job is to save them from their nightmares, from their fears, and pull them back into their dreams. This is how she met Fluttershy the first time, the yellow mare had constant nightmares. Every night Luna travelled from dream to dream, always finding herself back to help Fluttershy. At first, she fixed from the sidelines, but when it became obvious that this was more of an issue than previously thought, she stepped in. It became part of Luna's job to help Fluttershy through her fears, to come to realization with them. That the dark wasn't scary, especially for Fluttershy who could speak to the plants and animals. That the chiropterasi(bat pegasus) within her wasn't something to be scared of. That just meant that Fluttershy was one of Luna's citizens. Or, Luna's favourite, that jellyfish could not one day learn to fly and latch onto her. It was such a weird nightmare(and painful). Slowly, Fluttershy started to dream at night, no longer petrified thanks to Luna. But Luna still visited her, unable to help herself from checking, just checking, she promised. Until Fluttershy started to call to her in her dreams, and they'd spend all of Luna's breaks talking and enjoying each other's company in the dream dimension. Luna spent all her free time in Fluttershy's dreams, which slowly became more romantic and soft with each passing night. Eventually Fluttershy asked to come to Canterlot to see Luna in person, to really meet her and talk to her in the waking world. It was a startling request, considering Fluttershy's severe fear and anxiety of big cities. But Fluttershy had told Luna that, well, Luna was worth the fear. It was easier then. Constant nights together, and multiple visits eventually lead to the two starting a real romance. And odd one, actually. Mostly dream, as they live completely seperately. Luna is also the Queen, or Mother, of the Night Citizens. Notibly, the Chiropterasi(Bat Pegasus) and the Umbrum(essentially bat unicorns), who are all nocturnal and consider Luna as their Queen.

Apollo, first born of Fluttershy and Luna, was created in the normal way. Love, romance, a little bed action, the normal way. But thanks to the mix of Luna's blood and Fluttershy's slight bat genes, Apollo is the first chiropterasi born from a royal line. The rest of the Night Citizens were created from willing, but non-related, ponies, none of them carrying Luna's blood, only her magic. Apollo, however, is the first of their kind to be Royal blood. This, of course, makes him a Prince. A title he fits into perfectly. Your classic knight in shining gold armor, except his instincts to help are less offensive and more magical. His main skill is the creation of light. Not electricity nor fire, but light. He always has a slight glow, and that's something that attracts others to himself. And something that helps in his chosen field. Apollo is the Royal Healer, the head of his profession. While the Royal Family doesn't really need his assitance all that often, Apollo finds himself busy as a Field Medic for the Royal Guard. His preference is helping the guards who come in injured and healing them to full strength in no time. Despite being a Night Citizen(who are known for their preference of the night, of course), Apollo heavily prefers day time and sunlight and warmth.

Artemis, the second born, was not created in the normal way. She was created in a dream. Luna crafted her from a dream, a star, and gifted her to Fluttershy after multiple failed attempts to concieve a second child. And thus, Artemis was created rather than born. She sort of.. popped into existence as a newborn, much to Fluttershy's surprise. She hadn't known such a thing was possible. But all the same, she loved her little daughter with all her heart. Artemis' talent is start creation, in which she can literally make, destroy, and rearrange the stars in the sky. It's a powerful talent for a simple Umbrum to possess. Artemis is also the second born of Royal Blood in the world of the Night Citizens. She's more of your classical Umbrum, enjoying the dark, moonlight, stars, etc. Artemis is also very thankful she's a unicorn, rather than a Nocturn Alicorn like her mother. She adores Luna, of course she does, but it seems like a hoof-ful to be an Alicorn(despite the fact that Artemis has enough power to have been an alicorn). Artemis, star creator and possible universe changer, is happy as a librarian in Ponyville. Specifically the night librarian, who sits around at the early morning hours reading, drinking tea, and periodically conversing with other night owls. An odd side effect of being a dream creation, or perhaps just because she's a powerful umbrum, is that Artemis doesn't need the same amount of sleep as any other ponies. Three hours and she's ready to go for the entire day, and she can go three days without sleep before feeling sluggish(and only needing a 3-5 hour recharge).

My favourites <3 Totally not biased(though I love Cosmic Wave too) but I adore these four. I kinda wanted to do something fun with their story, with Luna being Luna and all. Artemis is one of my favourite designs so far.
