I am not into the biking sport, but I do have to say and give credit where credit is due, this is one of the best Panning shots I have ever seen. No photo touch-ups look like they've been done (like some I know), and it looks very original.
Great timing and great shot, especially at the speed he is going down a slope.

Wow, beautiful shot! You kinda feel like your riding beside him.. that or just a spectator watching this guy dash down the trail. Man this has a serious feeling of movement!

it's a stop in time--you have the man's muscles ripping, crashing through the forest on his bike...amazing. sometimes in the middle of the race you just gotta think about the great moment you're in.

Dont you think that's a bit too nit-picky to suggest? I mean, you have to take in consideration how fast some of these bikers go, and from the looks of it, he is going down a slope.
Even some of the best photographers I have seen around cannot even get the quality this picture gives. Timing has to be absolutely near perfect, etc.
I think the picture is superb to be honest.

Yes, the picture is good, but I know that focusing on the rider is not extremely hard (it is hard though), yet it is desirable. I myself am a biker and speak in good judgement of the matter at hand, I have taken and had pictures taken of me that had the bg in motion blur with the rider staying in focus.
It was a simple remark, I think it is better to receive constructive criticism in any domain, than just praise. And as I previously said: I like the picture, I'm not contesting it's effect and power.

True, constructive criticism is a good thing, but I guess I looked at it as so minute/minoot that it shouldn't have affected the photo that much.
