This is finally again a piece that I had done for my own when I had a little space between 2 cover artwork jobs. I wanted something that went slightly into the direction of "Some Kind of Heaven". I only spend 3 days on it, but I am quite happy with it.
As a reference for the angel statue I used a photo that I had taken in 1992 on Highgate Cemetery in London.

Superbes jeux d'ombre et de lumière.
Magnifique contraste entre la plante grimpante (symbole de vie) et la pierre qui elle est figΓ©e et froide.
Très beau travail.

Wow you are trully amazing. I love the details and the light effects. You seem to have put a lot of time into it. The shadow on the face also shows a amazing dept of emotion. ^_^

Stunning. How did you make these textures in acrylics? o_O

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainerKalwitz In reply to Aegis-Illustration [2006-02-11 00:14:59 +0000 UTC]

the textures were mainly made with coloured pencils, the mini-lights at the scratches were really scratched into the sprayed acrylic ink layers

Nice piece.Do you airbrush your acrylics.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RainerKalwitz In reply to Leebea [2006-02-10 22:49:59 +0000 UTC]

I call it mixed media. I combine airbrush work, brush work, coloured pencils etc. etc.

mostly I am using acrylic inks (Schmincke "Aero Color").

thanks for the kind words
