What I personally think:
A base really limits yourself as an artist. I'm not saying you can't use a base, it just bugs me that you're using one. You do have talent but it can only be improved and perfected when you try to do things yourself. If you're having trouble getting the anatomy right you can always use references. References are there to help you develop your talents as an artist. Bases are usually just the easy way out and I personally think it shows laziness and no effort. The colors you chose and the placement of colors don't really mesh well together and makes it a bit hard to focus on too.
