So as the sun sets on very first day on the year I can say
I have been remotely productive today.
I could go on about how this stands for a new year being a new beginning and how Sunset Shimmer works so well with that theme. I could point out how her raised hoof symbolizes moving on - moving forward, out of the cold that is meant to be an imagery of her past.
But in the end I just drew her because she's cute, added the pullover because her body looked too long and I wanted cover that up as best as I could and added the wintery background because it went well with said piece of cloth. Although... once I was done and I looked into her eyes... yes, I think it gained its' personal meaning without me even noticing.
Will there be even more ponies from me this year? I highly doubt it can be avoided, lol. But I will try to get more things done that are actually on my to-do-list.

Well, regardless of the process that led to this piece, nothing changes the fact that it is adorable. There needs to be more Sunset Shimmer adorableness.

Talk about prattling on, lol.
So basically one thing led to another and we ended up with this lovely piece of Sunset in a winter pullover. It's a nice contrast when you think about how Sunset; as she is; is a counter to the cold that is associated with winter.
I highly doubt you'll be able to avoid drawing more ponies in the future might as well accept that it will eventually happen and just let it go

Yup. Though that basically is the way most of my pictures are created. I can't quite comprehend how other people have a certain picture in mind and then bring it to the canvas, to me drawings are something that evolves while working on it. Though maybe that's just due to lack of skill, I don't know, lol.
Uh-huh. It was nice to work with her warm fiery colors. That way I could use a blue background without the picture being too cold and I could even put a green outfit on her.
Yeah, and it's not like I don't already have a folder full of pony sketches that need to be worked on. I hope I manage to finish some of those before I draw too many new ones. Haven't touched some of them for years, so I want to have some progress there for the first time in forever
