Stunning. When i paint in oils it drys out and looks flat and dull, how do you achieve such a smooth shine?

The smooth texture of the canvas is amazing, her face even looks like it has pores. What do you use to prime your canvas with?

I must admit that i use five to seven layers of primer. Gesso or any other kind of primer will do.
Also, a satin varnish can add some smooth and deep texture wich brings out the colors!
