Interesting tut. I'm concerned about making the obi flower out of clay though, especially that thin. Won't it be much too fragile and break easily? I prefer craft foam or fabric vinyl, myself. Maybe if you wanted carve in the designs you could put the clay on a foam backing, that would be in interesting idea...but I digress.

I'll certainly keep that in mind. I has thinking that, given the fact that the obi isn't tied right on the waist line, but a little higher, there wouldn't be any danger of breaking[or very little], since that area isn't as flexible as the waist line.

True, but what about when sitting? After wearing my Yuna costume for 12 hours at a con, I can say that whenever I sat down, there was definite pressure on the obi flower. I'm afraid that the stiff clay would just break, whereas the foam has some give to it.
