Details:
This is probably the most detailed piece I've posted on DA to date, I colored and edited every single item on this piece! The contest is about doing a coloring book your own way and you get extra points if you model it off of another artist's work(Links below), I decided to go with Alfonse Mucha because he has art that stands out and sometimes uses stained glass. I pretty much put 2 coloring pages into 1 following the artist's style I picked lol! I completely redid all of the lineart from Belle and the Beast to the Stained Glass Background, I edited the background alot to get what I wanted, I colored Belle, Beast, Rose and the Stained Glass from the HD movie, The dancing hall Background is also form the movie I edited it so it looked like the stained glass was a window in the dancing hall! The ring around the stained glass window is a feature that Alfons Mucha uses alot in his own work, so I made one of my own, I then gave it a texture to match the artist's works that's online atleast. This is seriously incredible. I love how you not only spliced the two images together so beautifully, you added lineart that fits in extremely well with the original stained glass image. You should be very proud!
First of all, that is some lovely shading on Belle and the Beast. The soft shading and coloured outlines really make the picture look like a Mucha painting. However, the real star of the picture is that OUTSTANDING background. The rose pattern in the circle and the outlines look very authentically Mucha. I'm afraid nothing else I say can do this beautiful work of art much justice, but I hope a favourite is just as good <333333333

Yeah that form of shading was new to me, so im glad it turned out as well as it did! I wanted the background to steal the show, from what I could tell from most of Mucha's works he goes crazy on background details, I wanted to match that lol! Thanks for the love again!

As you gave me in-depth critique I'll try to give some too.
Odd chose to go with Mucha and stained glass, not the first thing one thinks of with him... Though it works beautifully with the motif but maybe less with the inspiration in my mind.
I know Mucha did stained glass in later life, But they were more scenes than pretty pictures. In his later more religious phase.
Unlike like his promotion poster that he is more famous for and you used as a reference/linked to. I know others have made stain-glass out of his work but it looses a lot of the soft lines when others do it and I feel it happened here too. Making it look more Art Deco and less art Art Nouveau.
As you haven't kept the line thickness from the stained-glass in the main characters, nor used the heavy lines Mucha enjoys to outline his pictures with, to neither incorparate nor separated your fantastically shaded belle and beast and rose with the window... makes it look like they are standing in front of the amazingly detailed and pretty stained-glass and that makes the picture fell less Mucha and less "together".
The wooden background is also not helping you convey the inspiration. it makes it look even more like they are standing in a room with a glass window. I would have removed that completely and worked more with negative space there like Mucha so enjoyed doing. You have very little negative space. Adding that and a thick outline around your main character would really help this picture to look more Mucha.
As it is now it is super pretty and one can tell it is inspired by art from the early 1900s.
So it is a very pretty picture and I love the detail on the glass, and the shading on the characters is real good, as is the glass around the rose.
The way you have executed the picture works really well with the colouring book motif. The story telling window, Belle and the Beast dancing in front of it.

Yeah I focused more on maintaining what disney already established as it's art for Belle and Beast and worked Mucha around it,
and yes the stained glass is more of a background feature than part of the ring detail that Mucha uses.
I made it so it's an actual window in the Ballroom, so it's the only source of light in the room, and with it being stained glass not much
light is shown through thats why Belle and Beast and the ballroom are in more of a darker tone but the stained glass is bright, I do understand how the
coloring blends it in with the ring which makes it look as if the ring and window are one in the same tho...
If I would have blurred the window out a bit and made it a bit darker it probably would have been better, but that stained glass was a beyotch in a half and I wanted it present lol.

Lol I'm glad that's what comes to mind when you look at it, I didn't necessarily go for the movie cover route, but I'm glad it look official to you! Maybe they'll do a Disney Movie Cover Contest next time lol!
