Commission for . This was a fun and interesting challenge. When doing the fur patterns on these characters, I dont draw on them in 3D; I only see the flat version of the skin which is then 'wrapped' around the model. This makes it tricky to do markings on the back, or around the arms, or lining up markings that go onto different material zones. I think the body took 10 tries while the head took around 6.I am definitely glad I was able to do this. My models are not the most flexible when it comes to making an original character. Luckily, this character fit rather well with the model.

Wow, that's pretty spot-on, dude. 
Still, I'm curious about something; how did you make his abdomen a separate shade from the body? I know how to change hues and all that, but not individual parts.

Its always a trick to get the markings exact, but that is always a fun challenge.
Most of the markings were painted with a brush instead of simple hue and saturation changes. A lot of these markings are on different layers set to things like 'color dodge', 'color burn', 'overlay', and sometimes 'vivid light'. They make the color without destroying the map's fur detail. So for the abdomen, I simply painted that section with a brush on a layer set to overlay (I think its called overlay, its the option above screen).

Oh, I get it. I use GIMP, and so I'm sure it can do something similar to that. If I remember correctly, you use Photoshop; but it shouldn't be a problem. Many thanks.
