Description
Name: Thorn
Age: Adult
Gender: Male
Height:Β 36"
Weight: 140 lb
Build: Physically immense in every dimension, he is thick-boned, tall, and naturally thickly muscled, especially around the neck and shoulders. To top it off, his massive frame is emphasized my a thick, fluffy, coat with a dense undercoat and a long, rougher top coat.
Territory: Vektren
Family: Klaus (Cousin)
Rank: Delta Enforcers
Trait Specifics
Eye Condition:
Ocular Albinism- his kind of albinism only effects his eyes, meaning his eyes completely lack normal pigment. This results in decreased vision and light-sensitivity during the day, and poor depth perception. This makes his violent instincts far more useful in close combat, rather than in tracking or hunting over long distances.
Personality
Servile: Because of his intense reeducation in Vektren, his perception of Self has broken down- and he does not feel at ease unless he is serving someone, bound to them, making their purpose his own. He hates this about himself, and hopes that one day he can see himself as something else other than a slave.
Loyal/Warrior/Protective: The fact that he has very little regard for himself results in him being a terrible foe to encounter. He is a seasoned warrior, and his disregard for self-preservation makes him throw himself into fights far more than wolves with something to loose. He is loyal to those he's commited himself to, and is fiercly protective. He is deeply devoted, though demonstrates this with actions over words.
Reserved/Stoic: Thorn is a wolf of few words, but the words he does say are usually worth listening to. He is not shy, or particularly awkward, he is simply extremely discerning in what he says, and who is worth saying it to. He can often appear to those unfamiliar with him like he is irritable and somewhat dangerous, like he's a bomb about to go off. In reality, he's a quiet soul with a lot of thoughts racing underneath. His natural resting-b!tchface lends to his ill-tempered-looking exterior, but is actually much softer and more gentle than he appears. He keeps his emotions close to his chest, and would never talk about himseslf without prompting.
PTSD: He suffers from emotional numbness, often feeling like he's not really alive, or living a waking dream. He suffers from insomnia, hypervigilance, non-existant self-esteem, persistent inability to experience positive emotions, and a temper that is rarely awoken, but it truly terrifying once triggered.
Honorable/Moral: He has an immovable sense of honor and morality, and in his own, messed up way, is probably the most honest, reliable wolf anyone will meet. Violence, somehow, seems completely unrelated to his moral code- he will not hesitate to mess up a fool.
Pushover: In many ways, he is like a brick wall, but in others... he is a totally softy. He can turn into jelly in the paws of (sweet) pups, or the wolves he's come to trust.
Underutilized/Intelligent: For his entire life, he was always appreciated and used for his bravery and brute strength, to the point that he is often considered to be rather simple of mind. He does little to dispel this misperception, but actually has a good head on his shoulders, and is quite intelligent. While he keeps his brain to himself most of the time, he will occassionally surprize others with his wit or words of wisdom.
Pre-Group History
Thorn was born in the low rungs of the Highvalley pack's Highbloods, the inbreeding in his line a possible cause of his ocular albinism. He was strong, huge, a talented fighter and extremely conceited- he'd never lost a fight or a sparring patch. As a young adult, he took the comfort of his cushy life for granted, and when he found the challenges at home to be pedestrian and boring- he went off on his own without support from his pack to pick fights and challenge wolves of all walks of life. He finally met his match. The wolves of Vektren saw him fight, and wanted that raw power for their own. When he refused to renounce Highvalley, he was captured and subjected to extensive "reeducation". For over a year, he was psychologically tortured, tormented, and brainwashed until he was a husk of his former self. He feels completely detatched from the wolf he was before, all that remains are the things his captors wanted to keep: his fighting instinct, and his sense of duty. He was recently released from reeducation and allowed to function as a Vektreni packmember... he no longer objects.
He remembers Klaus from Highvalley, and considers him royalty and the rightful heir to the throne of their birthpack, which is one of the reasons he devotes himself to servitude under Klaus, even as they live in Vektren.
