He certainly looks both different,but similair.
Interesting how you made him both look upgraded AND downgraded at the same time.
I like how you even made it for the weapon.
This guy looks more resserved,but alot quicker and deadlier. Normal Claw looks all out evil,vicious and like a brutal brawler.
He looks powerfull on his own(makes sense since in cannon,Neo evolutions were better then normal evolutions),but when compared to his normal self,he does look less imposing and powerfull,not that this guy wouldn't control the room the moment he tore down the door.
And as I stated originally,this guy has COMPLETE controll over his host's body.The host's mind is locked inside and a prisoner in their own body.

Think of his body as a mix of Cyberoid ZZZ body with a Neo-Roidmude Cloak. Him being called a Battle Roidmude I figured he'd look something different from the generic Roidmudes.
He's like agile and slick here, then when he gets his final form he gets insanely strong and powerful. But maybe becomes slow also. Like Broly from DBZ. xD
The sword is meant to be just half of his final form's sword. I like to do that in my drawings. xD
He is in control here, that's why the 'human' core is on the belt and not on the chest.

Also,didn't think of it until now,but even thou he looks really fancy and regal,he still looks rather casual aswell. Neat! And this is still his hostage monster form and he still looks rather normal!

Good reasoning there and fitting considering that he is a ZZZ/000 model and yeah,he is made for battle,so ofcourse he needs to look like he can fight.
And you are absoloutely right. Neo Claw is quicker and slicker and cover a whole lot more ground alot faster then regular Claw,but regular Claw could cover about the same amount of ground with complete destruction.
Neo Claw hits fast and hits hard. Claw hits INSANLY hard.And that is without going into Dead Zone. If he does,he is downright DANGEROUS! And lethal if he would go into Dead Zone as a Neo evolved.
And I don't even think I told you were I wanted the plate,but that is just were I wanted it,as a belt. It sorta looks like a boxing champion belt and for someone wearing "clothes",having it there instead of on the chest,it makes perfect sense.

Fused with a human, he is now stronger than when he was just a roidmude. Since he did fuse with a human, humans have limitations as you know, like not being able to use the full potential of the brain and body. Only maybe during very dangerous situations that trigger the adrenaline rush. And for that him being a Neo-Roidmude would also mean he would get limitations. The Helmet would be the symbol for that. So when he gets his final form, the helmet breaks including limitations.
And the design came from one of the main inspiration for Claw's feline design. In God Eater there's an enemy called Vajra, and there's a version of it called Ravana.

Yeah,that makes sense,henche why Dead Zone lives ups to it's name in Neo form,he becomes a furnace on legs for his host.

Kinda funny how Claw unlocks/uses Neo evolution after he has already evolved twice.
But hey,those limitations will be good for him when he dosen't use it as it will teach him to use his powers in different amounts.

That is probably the base of that one. But Neo Claw's helmet made me think of that Satira guy.
But your designs in general tend to be more fluid and more balanced.
I also like how you kept Claw's shoes designs and how you can clearly see how they change between the two designs.

Okay. They look like they are comfertable atleast. And good armored. And they lend themselves to a bit of continuity between the forms as Claw's normal form adds some claws on his shoes.
I also like what you did with the tentacles. The way they come out of his back gives him a bit of a Doc Oc vibe.
