This version of RR is supposed to be evil, he comes from the magic land where almost everyone can use magic.

He is considered evil because he hunts down and tortures phantoms, due to this he is always hunted down by stronger phantoms for revenge or the law enforcers of the king who consider his acts as taboo.

The reason for this is that his wife was turned into a phantom, considered to be too late to save, they are target for extermination. However this version of RR believes there is a way to restore his wife back and to restore his life back too.

He has the phantom of his wife chained and caged somewhere, but because he doesn't know how he performs experiment on other phantoms first before applying the knowledge to his wife.

Eventually he was able to restore a phantom back to human, at the cost of them losing magic as well. Not that it matters to him, so he proceeds to apply the same to his wife's phantom. However the outcome is different for his wife.

While the phantom has been removed, something far more sinister is born, a being of ancient magic.. an evil Djinn.

The Djinn now occupying his wife's body, is able to transform into a rider similar to mages and Wizard, the driver has a lamp instead of a hand. But still requires to be touched before being able to cast magic, but she does not need rings as catalysts, she simply needs to command and her wish be done.
