The principal PoD behind this post is already given in the hyphenated post above, so no need for further explanation.

If the geopolitical trends that occurred in the OTL 20th century happened, more or less, in the same intensity in this alternate scenario, I sensed that Binuculjan (OTL southern Anhui, southern Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Fujian) could be involved to such trends, most especially the rise of both communism and socialism, most especially after (ATL) World War II; the northern part of the country, having dominated by the left-leaning anti-Japanese guerillas, became dominated by such political force in the 1949 elections, while the moderates won the south of the country. After a series of failed negotiations, it was decided that they prefer to split up the country than being uncomfortable with each other. Thus, another casualty of (ATL) Cold War.

By the way, the air force roundel of Binuculjan is inspired by its national flag, which in turn is directly derived from its almost nearest OTL counterpart, the Fujian People's Government .
