One of the effects of "Less Arab-centric Islam"/"No Islam"/"Ebionitism as substitute for Islam" scenario (especially the latter two) is the survival of more East Iranian languages, particularly in OTL northern Afghanistan, Tajikistan and southeast Uzbekistan, particularly in the Samarkand region: the expansion of Persian (a West Iranian language) would be minimized at least, although it could be stabilized and consolidated as the lingua franca of neighboring Iran (think of Dari/Tajik as spoken in the whole southern Iranian provinces and Espahan/Isafahan, the ATL Iranian capital). Hence, the leaders and intellectuals of the region thought that the name "Avestan" could be a perfect choice for the country because of relative neutrality ("Afghan" as this moment were synonymous of Pashtuns) among the East Iranian ethnolinguistic groups; after all, Avestan language in this scenario was (and still) the source of the plurality of neologisms in all East Iranian languages like Pashto, (neo-)Bactrian and (neo-)Scythian (OTL Yaghnobi).

For the flag itself, I used the colors of the Afghan flag (black, red and green) as the basic design. Then, I added the OTL Tajik crown at the center of the flag.
