Daria got me and my best friend through high school.Every single character on the series had a real life counterpart on our school life, and that was the case with maaaany people. That's one of the things that made this show great.
I never thought we could be so reflected in a cartoon!
I'm soooo happy to have the DVDs now!

My brother's name was Quinn, so this brought no end of hilarity when we watched it, especially since he more resembled Trent.

I LOVE Daria. It's easily one of the best MTV shows they have ever produced. The greatest thing though is that the show started just as I started high school. I started "la jai" in 1997, which was the exact, same year the show debuted (and likely the same year the characters in the series entered high school).
The series end ended in 2001, which was when my first year of college ended (with the movie "Is It College Yet?"). The series was with me throughout my growth, and was damn hilarious to boot.
Both Daria and Jane were basically the voice of us oddball kids who were too quiet to talk the truth (or were idols to those that did). They might have been cynical, but they had to. They were stuck in a world where beauty and stupidity were rewarded. They had some great insights and comments on student life (one of my favorite episodes is the art contest one, simply because of how they delivered a message, I am sure YOU would relate to that the most 
The show would even predict how the media would evolve. Here it is, a show produced by MTV about how society and pop culture reward shallowness and stupidity, and NOW THEY are the ones hosting dumb crap like Jersey Shore and 16 and Pregnant. Kind of ironic, no?
Anyways, great that you got the DVD set and happy that you love the series

Care Bears cuando nena, TMNT de 1ero a 4to, Tiny Toons de 4to a 7mo, XMen de 8vo a 10mo y Daria y Doug en High School! jajaja Y luego en college veíamos The Critic y Clone High.
