Intro

Deija was (at time of death) a rising cadet in Shangri-La's military force and was Kid Kamikaze's personal combat trainer and lover. She taught him everything he knows about hand to hand combat and about living life to the extreme as well. In many ways she was the true reason for him becoming who he is, and she represents a lot of the core "seize the bull by the horns" mentality that he exudes. Her good natured demeanor lends her to making friends easily, but her loud and outgoing habits can be off putting to those that wish to keep a low profile.

History

The sad tale of Deija's demise is to be told another time. For now, what is important to know about her past is that she was part of the Brommel household, one of the most influential in all of Shangri-La. After the untimely death of their parents, Deija and her siblings were entrusted with carrying on the legacy of power and influence that was left behind. Unable to show weakness, the children each grew up to be very strong willed and Deija was the most bullish of them all. The one area where she displayed gentle grace was in her spirituality training, where she connected with the energy of earth on a higher level than most. She preferred the company of nature and especially strong and dangerous animals over that of the citizens around her.
Her personality rubbed almost everyone the wrong way, except for Kid Kamikaze, and when her brother introduced the two of them it was love instantly. She was able to let down her guard and show another side of herself she didn't realize had existed since the death of her parents. With Kid by her side, she was able to now question the powers that be and believe more in herself and less in the Kingdom. Together the two of them began to challenge the system and as she did her already devout spiritual practices became even more involved and she was able to raise her talents to new heights. She was even rumored to have somehow been so connected with the universal life flow that she influenced Kid's personal spiritual journey and manifest her spirit within him through his animal marking of the Bull.
Unfortunately this was among one of the reasons she was chosen to train him and ultimately was killed. After her death, Kid was inconsolable and vowed revenge against the kingdom for what they did to her and to him as well. Before she died, however, she did leave a message for Kid with the only other person she could trust, her sister Jackie. But Kid fled before Jackie could deliver it to him. So after Ian left with some of the army to search for Kid, Jackie set out afterwards in search for them.

Personality

A strong personality is an understatement when it comes to Deija, it actually is no question as to how she and Kid got along so well. Her "in your face" attitude even rivaled his at some points. She made a promise to herself a long time ago not to let anything keep her from expressing herself and living her life to the fullest and she has done all she can to keep it. Deija is bold and self confident both in her fighting abilities and her sex appeal. While she is a horrible flirt, she rarely commits to anything physical as she is really picky as to who she think s can handle her, and also because she quite frankly intimidates most men. However, she does have a soft side to her that most don't see too often.

In short, she can read, anticipate, and work around energy based attacks and movements. Unlike Kid, however, Deija cannot manipulate energy and control it at will. Kid's markings on his hands are part of the reason he is able to interact with energy as such. Deija does have a higher than average connection to the flow of energy, both because of her training with Kid as well as her deep rooted spirituality. As a result her strength fluctuates depending on the energy around her and when she activates her Panther Markings (to be explained later) she has a much stronger life force with which to channel energy out.

Fighting Abilities

Not counting her energy reading qualities from her heritage, Deija's other specialty is her abnormal strength. It is and has always been unsure where the power from sheer muscle mass stops, and the strength from channeling energy starts. Either way, her strength is what allows her to wield her Stone Club as her weapon of choice. It's estimated weight is roughly 115 lbs and although it is not indestructible it is definitely one of the harder and more impenetrable substances known to man: Shangrilite-Ore. Native to only the nation of Shangri-La and mined in the hills, this ore is dense and grainy and is not damaged easily. Deija's younger sister, a talented weapon-smith, forged this weapon for her on her 16th birthday. Her inhuman strength has earned her many nicknames over the years including "Deija tha Damager" and "Stone Maiden"

Panther Markings

Every member of the military in Shangri-La undergoes a special journey with which they are inducted into the ranks. During this journey they are to come to realize their Spirit Animal, a representation of their soul as it connects with nature, and that sacred creature then manifests itself on their body and guides them throughout battles. Deija's spirit is connected with the Panther; a soul that is as powerful and fierce as it is graceful and beautiful. Her markings allow him to release her life energy as a weapon and channel it through attacks. Because of her natural strengths Deija rarely uses her Panther Markings to fight, but when she does it is an impressive showing. Her attacks then are usually some combination of "panther quality/club definition + attack name" i.e. "Crushing Claw" or "Clobber Storm".
