Description Just some speedpaint for my Youtube channel. I've been thinking of doing this T. rex paint thing based on my design once or twice yearly, I already did two this past year. Here's the link to my youtube video:Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wZkVx…

Interesting...art of a feathered T-Rex that actually looks intimidating and badass. You sir deserve a fucking medal. This is probably what they looked like to be honest (If they had feathers, which we are still not sure about and likely never will be).

There are actually quite a few good feathered T. rex reconstructions.

Not half the ones I have seen appeal to me.Β

Maybe you only look at the scary ones: I just like all the realistic ones whether they’re scary or not.

Nah, I just really hate the whole mostly bald but with feathers on top approach, just kind strikes me as unpractical, hence why I like art like this were the are mostly feathered animals. Of course this all going of the assumption they even had feathers, which we aren't even 100% sure they did.

acepredator In reply to StevenSerisawa [2018-10-04 21:26:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I agree with that. Most likely the upperside and the upper parts of the flanks were feathered, but they would get sparser the lower you go until the belly is fully scaly.

Nobody's 100% sure of that though, and we will likely never will be since they are you know extinct. And as much as I love my dinos, Jurassic Park shows us that cloning them is a BAD idea after all. XD

Yeah but Jurassic Park is beyond inaccurate.

StevenSerisawa In reply to K4rlman [2018-07-09 22:25:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh fuck off, it's still a great movie, on thats always been outdated mind you. I thought you were gonna be a sensible human being, I was just trying to spark a conversation.

Also how does that disprove my point (the designs are are mostly outdated (by how much is subject for debate though in some cases), the whole theme of the movies is not), I seriously doubt the T-Rex would be a friendly and cuddly creature, take a nice look at Grizzly Bears, they are temperamental as fuck. I wouldn't want to live in a world were there is giant grizzly bears running around, would you!.Β

Sorry if I come off as a jackass, but i just hat the whole "we should hate Jurassic Park' deal that's going on, especially when you take into note that it was never accurate to begin with (frilled Dilophosaurus anyone, and the chameleon carnosaurs in the book). I guess we should all stop watching King Kong cause not only are the dinosaurs horribly outdated, but giant gorillas's don't exist, what a travesty.Β

....this was harder then I wanted it to be, I tend to go on tangents.

They could probably still hiss like a croc does for threat displaying

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

StevenSerisawa In reply to TheWatcherofWorlds [2019-09-23 13:48:08 +0000 UTC]

Crocodiles can pretty much roar when pissed enough. I imagine a much larger creature would sound scary as fuck.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheWatcherofWorlds In reply to StevenSerisawa [2019-09-23 17:21:02 +0000 UTC]

Well they aren't described as a roar because they have no vocal cords. Its basically a very powerful hiss.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

StevenSerisawa In reply to TheWatcherofWorlds [2019-09-23 19:08:27 +0000 UTC]

I'm aware, hence why I said it was 'BASICALLY' a roar, but I will admit my phrasing could have been better.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheWatcherofWorlds In reply to StevenSerisawa [2019-09-24 01:43:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah its basically a roar.

But bringing it back to dinos, birds don't roar either so their "roar" must've been unlike any large mammal we see now as it is somewhere between bird calls and crocodilian hisses.

Dinosaurs must've been very alien.

I do, after discussing with people working hands on these specimens. Β There is definitly looking more like they have feathers. Β And probably for insulation. Β On part of its back and Β ail and maybe even on the arms. Β And the underside would be somewhat scaly. Β  Β But i dont agreed with paleontologist potraying it like a big turkey or chicken or eagles. This and some other good illustrations would be pretty spot on from what i believe. Β

Β  I like Davide Bonnadona if you know him?
