Firstly, I write this description from my husband's desktop because my poor laptop's space bar and semi-colon are not working! Needless to say, it's VERY frustrating. I can't really chat or post in forums and/or edit art descriptions.

Well, this all started with a silly little sketch (1). Then I scanned it (badly) to my external hard drive where it sat for some time. (this was done in 2010) I decided to try my hand at digital line work and it came out 'ok'. I was really happy with the body but the head felt 'wonky'. After that I gave it some basic digital color (2). Then it sat for some more. LOTS more. Because in that time...I've been laid off, my laptop died--twice, I became VERY ill and was diagnosed with pre-cancer of the uterus. (that is neither here nor there--but if you are wondering, the illness has improved) And so it goes, I sketch LOTS. I have an art tower (4 small drawers) full of sketch books and sketches on all sorts and sizes of paper. Most do not make it to the scanner. Many that do, get scanned and sit in my external drive. Waiting.

I'm self-taught in the ways of Photoshop (if that isn't painfully obvious).

Today I started looking at what was lurking in my hard drive. I decided to see if I wanted to post any completed pieces. And more than not I discovered so many projects were just not up to par to what I've learned so far. Soo...I thought I'd 'fix' this one little piece. And viola! Here are the changes I made. Following is another single image I made of the same monkey. (3, 4 & 5- not seen here) I see too many things I dislike but I wanted to submit something and this is now one of the LONGEST descriptions I've ever done.

The monkey doesn't have a name or gender really. I think I was imagining it a HE. The concept originally being a 'monkey king'. I'm not sure I'm altogether happy with the new head shape. But I like the ears.
