Description Taken June 2004 - Kos, Greece
Castle in Kos Town

Well I am a sucker for roses so apologies for yet another one - I must have taken this scene about 50 times so hopefully I captured what I wanted to - I visited the next day to try again but the rose had withered in the sunlight so I'm glad have caught it at its best.

I just like the fresh new rose caught in front of the ruins of an ancient castle, the contrast of the old and the new and I wonder how long that rose bush has been renewing, year after year as the surroundings get older and older.

Thanks for looking! xx

Grat shot, love the background and colours of the photo, I think the rose might have been a bit more impressive if you had taken a shot of it so that the inside of the flower was captured, rather than the side view.

very impressive - good depth of field, clarity in the rose, colour etc - brilliant - the idea is fab too - beautiful living things with broken stoney dead things in the back!
