I so hate spiders, cool to look at but from behind my screen...I know it's a mind thing ;( If they had 6 legs I would be like...meh...and the fact that lots of spiders are dangerous makes them ALL dangerous for me hahahaha!

i would think that a work entitled "PERILS of Adventuring" the tables would be turned ... With the hero lying on the ground grasping for their disarmed weapon as the evil creature looms to strike a potentially fatal blow
However the picture is certainly well done .... The dark colors give the sense of a forbiding environment filled with evil while the slightly increased light around the hero provides a feeling of success and triumph ... .... and of course having a scantily clad woman kicking ass is always a plus XP

Reflect on gender roles? Not really; one of the great things about video games is that you can play any gender you like and be equally heroic. While I'm a man, I cannot even make myself play Commander Shepard as a male in Mass Effect - it always feels wrong.
