I took a birthday drive this week in search of what I never explored before. Having noticed various cemeteries that were lined up en route to the more famous Loudon Park, I decided on New Cathedral Cemetery [link] and it did not disappoint! There is nothing like an old school Catholic cemetery for magnificent memorial art. Originally a dedicated Roman Catholic burial site, and the largest of its kind in the city limits, it remains owned by the Archdiocese of Baltimore and has expanded into a more ecumenical resting place for the deceased. Whether you are a believer or not, there is no discounting the magnificent displays of faith and hope here. Many are the works of famous memorial sculptors such as Baltimorean Edward Berge [link]
