Megaten III might have one of my favorite videogame endings ever. I know for certain, however, that it has one of my favorite, of not my most favorite openings ever. I'm usually a goody-two-shoes in every game I play... but I couldn't help but go for that True Demon Ending. There's really no right and wrong in Megaten anyways, so I didn't feel too bad about it. Things in Megaten are really and truly in the grey.

I also know that they are the most sarcastic games I've ever played, and therefore I love them. The fact that the main character in Megaten III was saved at the beginning by pure chance and not because he was special or because of some prophecy alone just makes me smile. Of course, generally that is my favorite thing about these games. I really like that the heroes are never born with any sort of special power, but they just happen to be in the right place at the right time, and someone says, 'you look trustworthy, here, have this really powerful item, do what you want with it'. So it kind of enforces a good moral in a sarcastic way about proving you're great without the need for being born with greatness.

...I had to sneak a Jack Frost in there, because I'm a goof and I can't take anything seriously. Speaking of Jack Frost, whenever I look him up I get confused for a moment because I forget there's a different Jack Frost of the Rise of the Guardians movie, and then I see stupid things in the search engine for 'Jack Frost x Elsa', and I'm just like, "Dude, I just wanna look up the goofy Jack Frost from Megaten. I don't wanna see your stoopid nonsensical pairings."
