What the heck is up with Emma Frost?In the early 2000’s, Grant Morrison relaunched Emma Frost’s backstory de-aging her to 27, and thoroughly shifting her around.
Which doesn’t make any sense in continuity. Astonishing X-Men which came about immediately after Grant Morrison’s New X-Men had Kitty Pride returning in her 20’s. For context: Kitty was 13 years old when she first met Emma. Joss still treated this as canon. Which post-Grant Morrison would have placed her anywhere from 17 to pushing 20 at the time. Which doesn’t mesh at all with Morrison continuity. In HIS version, she was on the lamb or in college at the time. And Disowned to boot. To put THAT into perspective, in the original continuity, she had assumed headmistress position at the Massachusetts academy. Which was how she attempted to induce Shadowcat and how she selected her Hellions. Except that she and her father DISOWNED each other during the Morrison run. She did VERY inappropriate things with her telepathy and Scott's mind, and left the X-Men's guard down in repeated rapid succession right after the 2004 relaunch. And the overall downward spiral of Cyclops's life after he left Jean.
