Love the quote, quite depressing, you're right. I prefer this one to the earlier one, really fantastic work. It reminds me of a mental exercise I did a while ago, in which you had to picture in your mind:
*a desert - any kind, anywhere in the world, it can be made up or real
*a cube in the desert - any kind, anywhere within the desert, made of any material, any size and any colour
*a ladder in the desert - made of any material, placed anywhere, any size and strength
*a horse in the desert - any colour, size, breed, anywhere
*a storm brewing in the mental image
*a flower/flowers in the desert - as many or as few, anywhere.
I pictured the Atacama Desert, and my ladder was similar to this one, as was the sky. Good stuff. If you've done the mental exercise thing, let me know, and I'll let you know what it all signifies

not that I can see. The D70 handles long exposure noise quite nicely.. As far as noise is concerned, it fares better than my new D2X

did you try it with longer exposures (longer than 15mins)? I had D70, and now D200 - both have problems with burning in one corner

yes, I've tried 30 minutes exposures with no problems. Strange you only have it in one corner. If in all four, I'd say your lenses were crap. I cant think of an explanation, really.
