Description
As a huge fan of all things Mandalorian, I thought it was about time for me to create the famous Mandalorian gauntlets in CAD. I started out creating the “classic” Boba Fett gauntlets that appeared in Return of the Jedi, but as I got to work on them, I kept thinking about other newer Star Wars characters and the extremely cool new gadgets that they had on their gauntlets.

Sabine Wren, for instance, had those cool vambraces with a built-in repulsor that she used to knock over Ezra. During Darth Maul’s attempted coup on Mandalore, we got to see that some Mandalorian gauntlets can project awesome blaster-proof energy shields! Cad Bane had cool gauntlets with all kinds of neat light-up features. What’s more, in both Clone Wars and Rebels, nearly everyone has a holographic projector on their comm device. So as I thought about all of this, I decided to add a few “upgrades” to the classic Fett-style gauntlets, to bring them up to speed with all of the other cool gauntlets that we’ve seen since the original trilogy. The result is what my character, Captain Synn, wears on his adventures.

Besides, many of the knobs, openings, and gizmos on Boba Fett’s original gauntlets have yet to be fully defined or explained (so far as I know.) So who knows, maybe Boba Fett has all of this stuff (and possibly more) in his gauntlets, and we just have yet to see these other gadgets (and aps) in action. . .
