I was able to fill in a number of things that were cut off in the rough lines, earlier.  Not much to say outside of that..

X: So, yesterday was Boxing Day?

Scythe: Yes, it was.

X: Okay, what are we waiting for? *gets into a stance* I heard you were good, but let's put that to the test.

Scythe: Um, X...

X: What's the matter?  Come on.

Scythe: I hate to tell you this, X, but the sport has nothing to do with the day itself.

X: ... It doesn't?

Scythe: Nope, it's something a day of appreciation for servants and workers in the Commonwealth nations- their bosses give them gifts and packages- these are often called 'Christmas boxes.' That's the occasion behind the day.

X: I see.... So, why are you dressed up for it, then?

Scythe:   .... that's a very good question....

Me: Well, I thought it good to make it a running gag.

Scythe: Kind of a dumb one- it makes it me think the same way as X..

X: This is starting to look more like a farce than a joke. The punchline was pretty weak.
