Description This kingfisher is sitting in the vineyards on my family's farm in India.
I was hoping to get a picture of the kingfisher in flight... it's quite a sight... the contrast between the rather dull brown and the brilliant blue which becomes overwhelming when the wings are outstretched. I have a few more of this guy... but I'll probably stick with the this one though

yep... they're pretty good looking birds indeed... and this one had a lot of interesting colors hidden under it's wings too.

i've only gotten one image of a kingfisher...was a beautiful navy white and black......i was out at a lake other night while two were fighting...amazing noises! lol

First I didn't recognized that this bird is a "Eisvogel (the German name)." I never saw such a puffed, and droll exemplar. It's very cute.
Well captured, inclunding the clever focus.

After posting this image I realized that I totally chose the wrong image of the kingfisher to post. It turns out I have one that shows off it's beautiful plumage(I think thats the right word) a lot more. I'll probably upload that sometime when I'm not lazy
