Here's a portrait/pin-up drawing based on the amazing photograph by *tatehemlock (tatehemlock.deviantart.com/art⦠. She's gorgeous and has wonderful eyes!Many thanks to Tate for letting me use his photograph for my drawing!

I haven't logged on to my DA in over a YEAR and I absolutely HAD to just to say how honored I am. It is absolutely beautiful, and it brings back the greatest memories. I'm glad to know people still appreciate them.

Bridjett will always have a special place in my heart and you captured her. I was so blown away. That thing about Bridjett I see in her, I can see it in the drawing. Very impressed. I used to draw before I did all this nonsense LOL So I can recognize true talent in that regard. I also think two years of art college and life drawing for years really helped me when I got a camera.

Thanks so much Tate!! That means the world to me! For my portrait drawings, I'm always trying to capture someone's personality and likeness. Most of the time, I draw people I've never met, so I'm only going by what I see in pictures or watch in video clips. But coming from someone who personally knows the model, and to say that I captured her! Wow! It really means a ton to me. 
I think you're absolutely right about having your drawing experience lead to better photography. With drawing, I start to see people slightly differently, almost like I'm focusing more on the details. Like light and shadows, and what features really define a person. I can certainly see where that would come in handy when taking photos. I've actually been thinking of getting a DSLR and exploring photography more myself. I had a film SLR in college, but never made the jump to digital other than a point and shoot. I loved that feeling of being able to manually focus on what I wanted, and would love to feel that again someday. Now I have to just decide on a decent camera! LOL
