Description hello!
this is a colored portrait commission for
Banished ghost, Betrayal
I used one of these textures for bg
I enjoyed drawing this particular character, I think the concept is just wonderful *-* it was a pleasure drawing her.
I wanted her to look like a porcelain doll, hope her skin doesn't look too healthy for a ghost xD Didn't want to make her look partially invisible though
anyway, hope You'll like it! >w< I think I'm proud of this one

Ok so this picture is beond amazing! Note I have horrible gramar so this may be a little retarted but I dont really care. Anyways this pickture is amazing and beautiful but there is two problems and thats it!

1. the teeth are the same color of her skin....whats up with that?
2. her eyes need to have white around tthe iris!

Just look at these two things and do so much better next time! I mean this is awsome!!! So ya do your best and I think alot of people will love this puicture! I know I do! So ya

Firstly, before I start on anything else, I would like to say that when I first saw this painting, I was like "WHOA..." and I clicked on it immediately. It has a sort of dreamy atmosphere to it with the branch-like hair and the attire that she wears. This really attracted my attention, so you deserve 5 stars for Impact e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Secondly, I love the colours that you use. The scheme you chose was very appropriate for this scene because it gives the painting an aura of mystery that allowed it to stand out immediately. I would rate you 5 stars for Vision because the blending and the colours worked really well in this painting and made it really attractive.

I would say your technique was good when it came to drawing humans (or in this case, a ghost), but the butterflies did not look as fantastic though. They lack a sense of realism which could have added some element of reality in this dream-like trance. Perhaps it was done intentionally to accentuate the fact that this scene happened in a dream, but it still needs a bit more work. So, 4 and a half stars for that e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Finally, I'd have to admit that I've seen a similar concept to this one before, though I'm not sure where exactly. It kind of reminds me of "Alice in Wonderland", but I like how the scene just played out wonderfully with a ghost girl instead. I like the concept of half-blinding her with the sash-like thingies. It sort of suggests that the dream is concealing that revealing the truth to her. It's a fresh, new idea which should be explored more in art. I'm glad you made use of this idea in your painting to give it a sense of novelty. So, 4 stars for originality! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

On the overall, you explored the concept of a dream rather thoroughly, especially with the fading skin and fantasy elements. The night gown adds to theme beautifully and the grunge texture used in the background was very appropriate for a vintage-look. It further emphasizes the ghostly nature of the girl as grunge paper is usually associated with a vintage theme, as ghosts also do. The associations you make in this painting makes it all the more valuable and attractive. This is definitely going into my list of Favorites e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Firstly, I have read your journal. It's hard for me to offer criticism of your work, as I am not a very good artist, but I sincerely wish to offer the most objective critique I can.

Excellent colour choices. The gold in the butterflies draws your attention to her face. The light flesh tones gives her an unearthly and dream like quality.

The strong highlights on her clothing really does make it look like silk and the strong detailing on the lace is a nice touch and helps give her clothing more form.

You have captured her expression perfectly, evoking a sense of betrayal and a hint of sadness. Having one of her eyes covered conveys a feeling of loss and I can't help but wonder about her past and what fate had brought her to this point.

My only technical criticism is for the shading under the strap on her left arm. It looks a little too sharp and does not seem to match the curvature of the strap.

I'm also not sure about the colour for the third butterfly. The blue does lead into her clothing colour but it feels a little out of place some how. I don't know if a gold would have balanced the piece, possibly framing her face.

Overall, I love this and I sincerely hope my critique has been helpful and not overtly negative in any way. :/

Whoo! Critique time again (Have you noticed that I like doing these yet?)

Seriously, you never fail to astound me with what you do. This is beautiful, and haunting, just very appealing to the eyes. The tones of the picture are augmented just because of the pale skin of the woman and still even she herself just makes her position pop.

I adore the mystical wrap and sway of the hair, giving her an ominousness like presence and her face and posture show something so tender and gentle.

I love the position of her hands and just really how they were drawn. You really did an amazing job with this and you should be proud! This is definitely your Magnum Opus.

Where to even begin with this?

First of all, the coloring is absolutely beautiful and looks so soft and feminine.

Her hair is so beautiful and flows around her so naturally yet so artiscally, it is so gorgeous and elegant. Her top is lovely as well, it has a very exquisite detail and almost looks silky.

You really gave her expression some beautiful elegance and her fair skin contrasts so well with the dark hair and background. The butterflies are lovely, though I do wish you did a little more with the green one in her hand.

Overall, this picture is splendid and you did a fantastic job!

thank You very much for the comment!
About the green butterfly- maybe it may not seem like it but the one here is a tatoo maybe I should desaturate is a little so it looks like one
thank You again!

ahhhh, I see.

Well, you certainly did a good job, so you deserve a great comment and many more after ^^

May I ask what program you used to color this?

(and I also love your quote "there's no such thing as talent, only hard work" It seriously inspires me to keep working to get better!)

I love this work, very well done! It's truly amazing. Let's start with the color and shading. The way the background is done in all generally subdued colors, gives the focus more on the woman in the middle, but also gives a warm, rosy feeling by choice of the red and purple intermixed. The way the woman glows, centers the attention on her, and the way her hand focuses attention on the butterfly is really well done. The astonishment in her eyes, is truly astounding, and the detail is marvelous. I love the color of her skin, and the black hair circles around her is amazing. The beautiful color of her eye and the bandages indicate a certain sense of mystery and possible shock, as if she just awoke in this place. The butterflies indicate a sense of innocence, that enhances the beauty and loveliness of this art. Overall, very well done.
