Hello!
I'm from a group, and we loved your beautiful artwork!
Good job, by the way!
We were just wondering, if we could use it as a cover, since it is basically the art we have chosen in our group. (Just to see who to ask, we didn't use it.)
Would that be accepted?

The sunlight in this one is absolutely amazing, the sky and clouds look very believable. I like how you managed to capture the contrast between the warmth of the setting sun and the coldness of the approaching shadows.Β
I haven't noticed info about this anywhere in your profile - what software do you use in general (and for this image in particular?)? Did you need Photoshop and all of those filters that come with it to make this image?
I've been working on my own lighting recently, but the majority of people who draw impressive lighting seem to be using Photoshop, makes me kinda think if this is possible with other, less complicated software (SAI).Β

So basically PS was used only for some finishing touches, and the actual lights (plus everything else) were done in SAI. In this case I admit it's quite impressive, as I've said most tutorials state that to get really good looking lighting you absolutely need all those advanced filters and layer modes that come with Photoshop. Guess SAI is more powerful than most people make it out to be.Β

well, photoshop is arguably better than SAI in pretty much every way, but the drawback is, it's hard as shat to use. seriously, it takes a long time to really explore and get comfortable with photoshop. SAI is good enough for a simpleton like me haha. most artists will soon migrate to photoshop once they actually get the theory and knowledge behind lighting. then the transition is easier as all you need to learn is just using photoshop.
if you're already that good, then SAI will probably bottleneck your drawing skills. but SAI is amazing for what it already is.

this guy only uses SAI for his artworks.Β

Yeah, that's actually what I've heard back in the day when I was switching from GIMP. The opinion in general is that Photoshop is powerful, but the sheer number of options makes it very difficult to get used to. As far as I know a huge chunk of these options won't be used for drawing anyway - a lot of this stuff is for editing photos etc.
I think that the only option that SAI has that Photoshop doesn't is the line stabilizer, to be honest I can hardly imagine myself drawing without using it now.Β
As for the gallery you linked, oh god this is so impressive. I guess this kinda proves that the only thing tools do is amplify already existing skills, and even that only to a certain extend. I mean, a good artist could make a semi-decent picture even in Paint with a simple small tablet, but if you gave me Photoshop I would butcher every drawing anyway, ha ha ha. Β SoΒ I guess I'll take my time with SAI for now, I'm still light years away from being really good, lol.
The same goes for tablets by the way, for less advanced artists it won't make a difference if they're using a Bamboo or Intuos or Cintiq since they wouldn't be able to utilize all the extra functions, but once you hit a certain skill level you'll realize that you're able to use functions exclusive to the more advanced tablets.Β

Tried typing your DA nick on Skype, nothing came up, guess your username on Skype must be different? (that, or I just don't know how to type, which is just as likely given how many typos I can make sometimes, lol)Β

In the underground, we have artificial Sun made from Magic, to lighten up Snowdin and the mood of its residents.
But it is not comparable to the real thing. Its warmth.
