lol...you know to tell you the truth i really did too. i yeah i agree with everyone that told me that like you said wasn't good color theory but i think that is was why i liked it cause it was different.
you know i started changing the different versions cause i didn't know how to make it right but after this piece completed i learned quite a bit on it. and it seems very simple after the fact but you know when you looking at a piece for a while....

What you need to work on here are your values.
Go here and have a quick look.
I know I'm comparing yours to mine, and mine isn't the best example, but you can still see what I'm talking about.
You understand you can separate your picture elements by color--warmer elements tend to come forward, cool tend to recede. But, ignoring all that and converting your pic to grayscale you'll see your color values. In yours, Daredevil is almost gone in the pic. Your background, first, is nearly black, and the shadows on Daredevil are also nearly black. It's hard to see exactly where he begins and the background begins. Also, the highlights on him are nearly the same value as the highlights in the sky--all in all, too similar.
If you look at mine, yeah, both the figure and the sky are gray, but they are different shades. Even in grayscale the main figure is separate from the background--maybe not exactly at the top, but I'm sure you get the picture.
I don't know if you're using black to shade, but if you are then stop. Use your colors to give the illusion of darkness without actually going black. And, try to vary the amounts of darkness in the foreground and background. The main figure in this case isn't part of the sky, so you don't want to blend him into it. There's a waning sun in your pic, so your sky shouldn't darken so suddenly. And a night sky is never truly black, just shades of blue.
I know you've heard never to use white. Change that to never use black. Unless it is an instance where it is absolutely needed or the client requests it, don't use it. In printing, black in the colors tends to muddy and dull the print, killing the colors.
White--don't be afraid to use it, but use it sparingly. Understand that using white will desaturate colors that you brush it on--keep it in mind if that is the effect you need. A small dot/streak of white once in a while on something shiny or wet, like metal or the catchlight of an eye.
Whoo, now that's a lesson in a half.

whooo ho.... lesson on brother
umm actually i have heard that on the black and white and no i don't use black i use a dark purple or blue, also possibly the reason he is soo dark is cause i used a very heavy texture on him....maybe that may effect him in this aspect. maybe not.
you know originally i wanted to stay with the red-ish sky that i did i just could figure out how to cool him down, that is until now woooohaahahahah i now know a cool cyan effect hehe, and was going backwards and =Zatransis suggested to change the sky to a blue-ish and see what would happen.
so i did but you know about the time that i got to this point i was kinda ummm lets say done with this one i have been trying and trying different stuff an hit that block. which i know i will get through but never-the-less i hit that i am absolutely done with this one so i posted where i was.... i know i know you aren't suppose to say that out loud or event type it for the world to see but it is what it is. looking back now i agree i should have umm feathered the blue up ALOT further until maybe the last quarter of the top of the sky. youi know i seem to have issues with going to dark don't really know why i just am drawn to the darkside (haha not meant to come out like that) of images but i do. i almost have to force myself to do day scenes cause they make me worry more about how things really look in full light...
i AM GRASSHOPPER...

I like both of them, The Blue one brings it out more then the red does.
