Hey,I’ve seen a lot of stories around, some good, some... um… yeah…. And I felt that I should give a few pointers on what I feel makes a story really pop. There are a few ways to get a story really good. But we’ll start out easy, with a simple idea. I’ll chose a character…hmmm…. Dante. Yeah. I’ll chose him, now you choose yours…

Good! Okay. So let’s start by writing a really simple sentence with a really simple setting. How about… a school?
Dante walked out to the front of the school with his backpack held carelessly in his hand-
Dante: WAIT A MINUTE! Dude. I sound like some priss. Hell no. First off, I wouldn’t hold my backpack in my hand. That’s just… stupid. It has friggin straps. It’s easier putting it on my back.
Me: … Fine, Dante.
Dante walked out to the front of the school his backpack hanging onto him by its friggin straps…
Dante: Nice. Way to be mature. And second, why would I just walk out? That’s so incredibly BORING. Have me run out for some reason. Yeah. I want to explode through the doors. That’s sexy.
Dante exploded through the door, guts flying everywhere while his backpack was held onto what was left of his bloody midsection by its friggin straps….
Dante: …Very fusking funny. Seriously though. Have me be in the middle of some kind of brawl or whatever so it all makes sense.
Dante exploded through the front door of the school, running as fast as he could before spinning on his heels. He faced the entrance to the school as three of the school’s main gangsters appeared, each holding something long and hard-
Dante: You mean long hard wooden sticks? Oh! And have me say something cool!
…each holding long hard wooden sticks. Dante just grinned at them before speaking in a haughty tone, “Something cool.”
Dante: Okay. Now you’re just messing with me. Okay…. Have me say… “My name is Dante Rae Belvidere. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
Dante just grinned at them before speaking in a haughty tone, “My name is-“
Dante: I was just kidding!
Me: Well. Unless you tell me what you want to say, that’s your dialogue. What would you say?
Dante: Aren’t you the author? Stop being lazy and think of something for me to say!
Me: Okay then.
Dante just grinned at them before speaking in a haughty tone, “In the name of the moon, I shall punish you!”
Dante: *flips off Me*
Me: I warned you.
Dante: Bitch.
Dante exploded through the school’s front door, his pink miniskirt swaying in the motion as his pigtails followed is movement….
Dante: I hate you.
Me: I know.
Dante: FINE. I’d say…
Dante just grinned at them before speaking in a haughty tone, “Heh. Those are some mighty long sticks you’ve got there. Compensating for something are we?”
Me: Okay. There. Happy Dante?
Dante: Since when have you cared if I’m happy or not?
Me: Are you going to complain about your dialogue anymore or not? Even when it gets you kicked in the balls?
Dante: No. I won’t complai- What the hell?! Why?!
Me: Because you just insulted them. They aren’t going to take it lying down.
Dante: Do they really have to hit there?
Me: Why not?
Dante: Because I WANT to be able to reproduce in the future.
Me: It will be epic~
Dante: What’s more important, my future family or it being epic?
Me: …Well…
Dante: Don’t answer. I’m leaving.
Me: Wha? Oh… He’s gone back to his corner. Anyway, so… Um… I guess… that’s… um… a… yeah… a… small… piece of a story…

Hmm... I need to make more characters aware of me, don't I? This looks fun.
Let me think... I would prefer to have Martin stay the way he is. I need him to keep hating the world instead of directing that at me. Elek is a no because of the first person. Maybe later.

I saw your character questionnaire and tried it for one of my own characters....and shortly realized how little I really know about them. XD I really really think that you and Dante have a pretty good relationship going on...plot lines aside. So far, I haven't gotten to the smart-aleck comments from my own characters phase of the proceedings yet. lol.
