My parent made black beans and rice from a box. (It’s Zatarain’s.) She added beef smoked sausage. Haven’t had it in a long time. Probably since I used to make Zatarain’s stuff for dinner during high school. (And, I think junior high?) It wasn’t the only thing I made during that time...I used to make it, because I needed to eat before marching band practice, and my parents would get home from work later. Good to have something ready for them and it was easy/quick to make. I’ve had most of the other flavors since then. Just brought back some memories. It looks like more than it is, since I flattened it out. It tasted like I remembered, which was good.
