The biggest artist influences on this drawing are those of Takaya Miou, James Jean and Edward Gorey.

This song has a lot of meaning for me. In the rock opera, "The Black Parade", The Patient, (the main character,) goes a little crazy starts having all these visions as he is trying to sleep as he dying in the hospital.

I went through a similar experience two summers ago. I started having serious stomach problems and was taken to the hospital. I had surgery and stayed in the hospital for about a month. During that time, I was often pumped up on morphine which caused me to see these really weird things.

The night following the surgery, I saw bats coming out of the TV in my hospital room. Later I saw people standing over me and grabbing me and other things. The weirdest one was that I strapped to the bottom of an elevator as it was moving.

My parents bought me an issue of "Rolling Stone" while I was in the hospital and while I was eating for the first time since the surgery, my dad read me the first press release about "The Black Parade". So on many levels, this song's been really important and meaningful for me. That hasn't changed even though I'm not the MCR fangirl I once was.
