Description Told ya, more Vegas stuff!

A few things;
1. No weapon. I guess I could pretend she's a brawler... except that she was a gun person xD
2. No pip-boy. We can pretend it's under her sleeve.
3. She actually wore a light metal armour preorder~.... but I'm lazy. And I just like the Jail rocker outfit :C

So this doesn't exactly happen in the game, it's just that I don't get a few things that the WW acts up on. So I just stand there for awhile... look around, and notice nothing out of the ordinary, hence a random rock in the comic.

Also trying my best with this background deal. Lol what is light source? 8D Also only two things are ctrl+C, ctrl+V in this comic ;w; So proud!

Enjoy!

Pip-boy and the like (c) Bethesda & Obsidian
Hanna (c) ...still me

Edit: After continuing my latest playthrough I realized I did the "pop up" thing wrong, I thought it looked weird. :C Oh well.

I ended up looking up the official list of all WW encounters to find out what I was supposed to notice... Most of them are lame, stupid, and things no one would recognize. Wish I'd chosen a different trait.

I feel there was a little too many Monty Python references, not saying they shouldn't put them there but it would be funnier in my opinion if they mixed it up a little more. And yea some seemed to happened while just scanning around so you have no idea what set itΒ  off haha.

And the Monty Python references go completely over the heads of those who have never seen any of those movies. *one of the seemingly few in that club* One went off when I was in Cottonwood Cove and I spent ~forever~ searching for it only to find out when looking up the list that the WW event was graffiti on the wall... -_-

Yea, like I said it would've been better if the WWs were a little more varied. I know I didn't get the Holy Granade ones at first (mostly cause I didn't know they set it off at first) and I've seen the movie it's referencing.
I also didn't get a reference in the OWB dlc, which I think was for Venture brothers or something like that, but that's cause I haven't seen that show so.

Thankfully the Auto-Doc in OWB can change your traits. I got rid of WW asap. Which is sad. WW should be fun. :/

This happens ALL THE TIME during the 2nd battle of Hoover Dam, even when the radio isn't even on, let alone set to the NCR emergency radio.

Yea, it sucks when it happens at a place that you're sorta "rushing" through (or rather being busy trying to fight your way through) cause you don't know what triggered it :T

xDD Why thank you! I'm glad you like em~
I hate it when a Wild Wasteland happens behind something, but the game reads it as if you saw it. Like I was playing Honest Hearts and I looked up and the icon showed up in the corner but there was nothing there! Turns out that it happened behind a table and a bush so I totally missed it in action >:C

thexxxsquid In reply to ReachFarHigh [2011-06-22 16:48:22 +0000 UTC]

dude, I know right... and sometimes there will be a reference to something and I wont get it cuz I never saw the movie or show or whatever the reference was from.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to thexxxsquid [2011-06-22 19:40:39 +0000 UTC]

That too. And if you haven't seen the movie/get the joke then you might not know what set it of at all xD Like you pan over the are and the thing goes off but you have no idea what set it off. It might be something tiny.

I think Wild Wasteland just likes to play spooky music every now and then to mess with my Courier. Or give away my positions to hordes of Ghouls.... It's done that twice now.

But I don't understand half of what the weirdness is supposed to be when it does go off.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to luvondarox [2011-02-28 19:58:08 +0000 UTC]

Haha probably XD Sometimes the WW goes off when you're just scanning through the area so you'll pass it and not know what's going on.

Like today when I was playing the Dead Money dlc and it showed up when I was looking into the red mist. I know which one that caused it to react because I'd read about it earlier, but if I hadn't it would have been a reaction for nothing really. :C

luvondarox In reply to ReachFarHigh [2011-03-03 06:26:45 +0000 UTC]

How is Dead Money? Is it worth getting?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to luvondarox [2011-03-03 09:44:12 +0000 UTC]

I think it was a fun story, it gave you a little more depth to the Mojave story. Not to mention new clothes to wear.
BUT if you have a short temper like me the dlc might piss you off a little. Game mechanic spoiler; You have to wear a slave collar that has a bomb on it, so you have to stay out of certain areas until you can find a way to get rid of the source for the beeping the bomb makes and at the same time you have to stay out of red clouds that can kill you.
But I had fun with it non the less :]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to Garchompisbeast [2011-02-01 17:42:51 +0000 UTC]

Hmm.. that's weird. You'd think you would stumple upon at least one by now. I mean there's one around Goodspring, one at the mountains at Goodspring Sorce (I think that's what it's called /lazy) and one in Nipton.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Garchompisbeast In reply to ReachFarHigh [2011-02-01 18:04:19 +0000 UTC]

what happens at those places? i may have seen them and not really noticed

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to Garchompisbeast [2011-02-01 18:20:20 +0000 UTC]

Well if you saw it there should have been an icon showing up in the corner and a ~*~spooky~*~ sound. The one near Goodspring (I've only seen it once) is a skeleton in a fridge, the one near Source is a body (which doesn't spawn at times but it still makes the thing go off) and the one in Nipton is two skeletons.
There's also one in the legion fort.
And if you help the twins over at the Atomic Wrangler you'll run into a WW too.
That's a few of them at least.

It's true, sometimes you really have to look around to notice what was there of out of place. I suppose that's why the WW perk symbol appears on the screen, so that you know you need to pay attention.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to Lun-Sei [2011-01-27 14:08:18 +0000 UTC]

Yea, of course that's pretty obvious. But sometimes the "reference" they use might not make sense to you if you've not seen a certain movie or whatever they're referencing. And sometimes things happens way outside of your view and it happens for just a second it's easy to miss what's going on.

lordxeras [2010-12-31 03:27:28 +0000 UTC]

The Wild Wasteland perk is a bit disappointing. I mean, i expected aliens or something cool and weird, but I ended up with two corpses named Beru and Owen.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to lordxeras [2010-12-31 09:34:54 +0000 UTC]

Well to be fair, there are aliens too just that Beru and Owen are more obvious due to being located by the plot road.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to Living-with-aliens [2010-11-29 11:33:26 +0000 UTC]

I know, right? Some are pretty obvious, but others are just weird. There's a Wild Wasteland thing in Caesars fort and it's just a table with a bunch of machetes. And the fallout wiki doesn't mention it at all. It's a big mystery :C

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

lordxeras In reply to ReachFarHigh [2010-12-31 03:32:41 +0000 UTC]

It's the graffiti on the wall on Cottonwood. the latin writing on the wall is conjugated wrong. like in Monty Python: Life of Brian. It's supposed to translate as "romans go home" but it's conjugated wrong so it actually says "People called romanes, they go house." it's the kind of subtlety you only notice if you're OCD. and can understand Latin, of course.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to lordxeras [2010-12-31 09:38:01 +0000 UTC]

How can the grafitti across the water set the WW alarm of when I'm staring at a wall at Caesar's place?
I already knew about the latin, but this was nowhere near that area so.

same. when I exploring the broc flower root cave, a prospector run passed me into the cave.

then i was like 'wth?' and the dizzied vault boy icon appear . I followed him, but he's disappeared! then a rat came as big as Rex attacked me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReachFarHigh In reply to koesir [2010-12-01 09:31:48 +0000 UTC]

Huh, I've been there but never saw the prospector. But yea, I didn't get that one either at first, cause it just happened out of the blue. But it's aparently a reference to the movie "Princess Bride", which has some.. abnormally huge rats or something. I haven't seen the movie which is why I didn't get it.

Well it's more like a camp with three aliens than a base. If you head north from the Horowitz Farmstead you should run into them eventually.

Ahahahah, her face in the last panel is great. I didn't choose that perk... because......... I'M TOO SRS. No, I just wanted different ones.

I seriously love how the majority of the time Hanna's expression is this: :1

Haha I'm the opposite, I couldn't decide on any other perk, so I always end up picking WW :C Some are tempting, but the whole break down quicker and all that scare me /worries too much.

XDD It's her idleface~ No idea how I decided on it... I just wanted her to be creepy for the first comic and then it stuck. So now it's cannon! And what cannon!
