Being completely serious for a moment, toothpaste does actually attract polar bears. They go nuts for the stuff... I can't remember precisely why though. Might be the mintiness.

If the bear reacts by throwing you into a mountain river then yes, that would make you very cool. Cool enough to die of hypothermia.
