Before anyone says it, yes I’m aware that this might come off as a little dramatic. However, that doesn’t mean my feelings on the matter, especially considering I have been thinking about this for some time.

Anyways let’s get to this:

Sooo…..for those who are curious about the recent posts of g3 related ponies (including this picture), I suppose I should come clean about it. As of recent advents, the third generation is my favorite generation of mlp. Now normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, especially considering it’s just ponies regardless of generation. But considering the fandom and the first ever post I ever made to Deviantart, I hope it makes some sense.
Let me make this very clear, I was a huge fan of FiM back when I was younger, I always had to watch the show and get all the toys of my favorite characters. I absolutely loved it, it was such a big part of me as a kid. I watched the show since I was 7 years old and I loved everything about it. But…that soon changed.
As time went on, I’ve come to realize that FiM wasn’t as good as it was, at least the later seasons weren’t. Not to mention that bronies didn’t really help matters, but let’s talk about what actually happened in the show. Now for anyone who’s watched FiM in the earlier seasons, it was a slice of life show that had easy to learn lessons for kids to learn at the end of each episode. Now sure there were villains, but those were usually the season beginners and finales for the most part. I loved the show for being simple and truthfully it didn’t need to be anything else than that.
But when season 5 happened, things really changed, now there were more mature themes like communism and cult shit, and that was just the first two parts of season 5. It stopped being a show that you can easily enjoy without worrying about the real world stuff interfering, but by the time season 9 came along, stuff like war was now a part of the show. I ended up giving up on the show in the middle of season 9 because I was so done with it.
Not to mention the characters were changed for the worst, Pinkie Pie got more annoying, Twilight also got obnoxious in terms of personality (she definitely wasn’t as interesting of a character ever since she became an alicorn), and some of the other characters were flanderized as well. It wasn’t the same show anymore. It changed so much it was completely unrecognizable to me.

So yeah….. I got a lot of my chest. Now before you get the wrong idea of me, I don’t care if you like g4 or even g5 (even though I don’t have the highest opinion of it, I advise going to www.deviantart.com/anscathmarc… , it goes over all the issues better than I can). You’re free to like whatever you like, I’ve met those who like the show and have been the nicest people. That’s how I met those like MustLoveFrogs , through g4 art. But at the same time I don’t want to feel shamed because of me liking g3, I personally like it for being the simple and slice of life stuff I wanted from FiM. And I’m glad there’s those like AnScathMarcach who make me feel welcomed to draw this art, because we should encourage people to feel free to like what we like without ruining anything or making things worse.

So I hope some of you can understand where I’m coming from.
