Ah, I was wondering if the person who said it was a moth was right. Moths usually have feathery antennae, and this one doesn't even though it looks furry, which is more a moth thing. Anyway, I don't think I've ever seen this one before.

My first thought was a moth, but you don't usually see them as colourful as this. But my instincts were proved right with a quick reverse image search which revealed it to be a Pyrausta purpuralis.
