Do you really think i should? i wasn't entirely sure. I wanted to change the skin to something lighter but was too lazy to use layers in the first place, so it would take a crap load of time

URG layers... shall i tell you how my recent attempt at their usage went? (I was trying to do a nice simple little painting) The lineart got lost in the eyes, the skin was on the wrong layer, their order was SO MUCKED UP, and in the end I had big bright spots of goo when i erased one layer. X__X

I find their harder to work with, because it changes the opacity on the brush tool so much

like when you select darker for instance it is going to look completely different if you paint it on another layer rather than straight on the original.

you must have different options/presets/whatevers on or something cuz that doesn't happen to me. so i just do it on whatever layer and end up in a whole heap of tangles.

It's probably because i use the darker effect on my brush, so it makes the colour its being painted on darker, so if i do it on a blank layer, it makes the white darker which is different than if i do it straight on a picture because it makes the picture darker.
