This is old photo I took back in November of 1998 of my 10 year old, 17.2 hand Thoroughbred gelding nicknamed Zinc (registered name: Lucky Legionnaire).

I lost him a month later at Christmas to a barn fire. It’s been 10 years, and it’s hard to deal with. He was my first horse and will forever be held dear to my heart. Totally irreplaceable.

He was a grandson of Secretariat. He was raced and then was used for show jumping and after I got him, did dressage.

I have the most wonderful memories, and although he was taken too soon, I enjoyed my brief time with him.
